Press Release A Tribute to... Award to German Director Tom Tykwer One of Europe’s Most Versatile Directors August 24, 2012 This year’s A Tribute to... award goes to author, director and producer Tom Tykwer. This is the first time that a German filmmaker has ever received one of the Zurich Film Festival’s honorary awards. Tykwer will collect his award in person during the Award Night at the Zurich Opera House. The ZFF will screen his most important films in a retrospective held at the Filmpodium. The ZFF is delighted that one of Europe’s most versatile directors is coming to Zurich. “Tom Tykwer has ensured that German film has once more gained in renown, significance and innovation, both on a national and international level,” said the festival management. Born 1965 in Wuppertal, Tom Tykwer shot his first feature DEADLY MARIA in 1993. He founded the X Filme Creative Pool in 1994 together with Stefan Arndt and the directors Wolfgang Becker and Dani Levy. It is currently one of Germany’s most successful production and distribution companies. RUN LOLA RUN Tykwer’s second cinema feature WINTER SLEEPERS (1997) was screened in competition at the Locarno Film Festival. RUN LOLA RUN followed in 1998, with Franka Potente and Moritz Bleibtreu finding themselves as the protagonists in a huge international success. The film won numerous awards, including the Deutscher Filmpreis in Gold for best directing. Next came THE PRINCESS AND THE WARRIOR (2000), also with Frank Potente, followed by Tykwer’s fist English language production HEAVEN (2002), which is based on a screenplay by the Polish director Krzysztof Kieslowski and stars Cate Blanchett and Giovanni Ribisi. -

‘LOVE, AGAIN’ CAST BIOS TERI POLO (Chloe Baker) – Teri Polo is best known for her role as Robert De Niro’s daughter, Pam Byrnes, in the “Meet the Parents” feature films. She recently starred in “The Little Fockers,” the third installment of the movie franchise and completed production on the feature “Beyond” opposite Jon Voight. Polo has also recently filmed the Lifetime movie “We Have Your Husband” and had a recurring role on “Law & Order: Los Angeles.” She played the character of Casey Winters, wife of Detective Rex Winters, played by Skeet Ulrich. In 2011, Polo starred in the ABC series “Man Up.” Polo’s other recent credits include the feature film “The Hole,” directed by Joe Dante and the NBC miniseries “The Storm,” both released in 2010. Polo’s film credits include “Beyond Borders” co-starring Angelina Jolie, the suspense thriller “The Unsaid” opposite Andy Garcia and “Domestic Disturbance” opposite John Travolta and Vince Vaughn. She co-starred opposite De Niro and Stiller in “Meet the Parents,” for which she won a People’s Choice Award and its sequel “Meet the Fockers.” Originally from Dover, Delaware, Polo began her performing career as a dancer. By age 13, she was attending New York’s School of Ballet. The summer before her senior year, she was signed to a modeling contract, which led to a role as Kristin on the daytime drama “Loving.” Polo made her primetime debut in the dramatic series “TV 101.” Television audiences may remember her as Michelle Capra, the doctor’s wife who was determined to master the strange surroundings (and even stranger characters) in “Northern Exposure.” She also starred in the comedy series “I’m with Her” as well as David E. -

Integral to this concept is the variable and highly subjective distinction made by various parties between “good” and “evil,” “right” and “wrong,” “us” and “them.” This thesis examines these concepts as they relate to the actions and manifestos of the Red Army Faction (die Rote Armee Fraktion) in 1970s Germany, and seeks to understand how its members became regarded as terrorists. -
