The first wave of discounted passes for the eighth annual country-music and ocean-conservation festival will go on sale 10 a.m. Friday, Nov. 1, at TortugaMusicFestival.com. Prices will be $239 for a three-day pass, $1,249 for a three-day VIP pass and $1,999 for a three-day Super VIP pass. If you have already attended Tortuga, you qualify for the Alumni rate: $199 for a three-day pass, $1,100 for the VIP three-day pass. Layaway options are available. Led by its first-ever female headliner in Lambert, Tortuga’s diverse 2020 lineup also will include Miami hip-hop icon Pitbull, top-selling singer Kelsea Ballerini and a parade of fan-favorite country dudes: Jon Pardi, Morgan Wallen, Lee Brice, Chris Lane, Cole Swindell, Jordan Davis, Billy Currington, Riley Green and LoCash. Also performing with be veteran pop rockers Barenaked Ladies, Gone West (featuring Colbie Caillat), reggae icons Toots and the Maytals, rapper Vanilla Ice and Tim McGraw’s country-rap protégé Blanco Brown, among others. Currently on her females-only Roadside Bars & Pink Guitars Tour — which stops at Orlando’s Amway Center on Nov. 9 with Maren Morris, Tenille Townes and her Pistol Annies trio — Lambert is scheduled to release a new album, “Wildcard,” on Nov. 1. She recently shared a single from the album, the gloriously retro-country ballad “Tequila Does.” Miranda Lambert will be the Tortuga Music Festival's first female headliner when she takes the stage during the event on Fort Lauderdale beach April 17-19. Title: Visual Metaphors on Album Covers: An Analysis into Graphic Design’s Effectiveness at Conveying Music Genres. Abstract approved:_____________________________________________________ Ryann Reynolds-McIlnay The rise of digital streaming has largely impacted the way the average listener consumes music. Consequentially, while the role of album art has evolved to meet the changes in music technology, it is hard to measure the effect of digital streaming on modern album art. This research seeks to determine whether or not graphic design still plays a role in marketing information about the music, such as its genre, to the consumer. It does so through two studies: 1. A computer visual analysis that measures color dominance of an image, and 2. A mixed-design lab experiment with volunteer participants who attempt to assess the genre of a given album. Findings from the first study show that color scheme models created from album samples cannot be used to predict the genre of an album. Further findings from the second theory show that consumers pay a significant amount of attention to album covers, enough to be able to correctly assess the genre of an album most of the time.

Miranda Lambert Biography On the caution-vs.-candor scale, it’s not hard to figure out where Miranda Lambert comes down. “I’m really not careful at all,” she says. “I probably should be. I pretty much don’t have anything to hide, though. I never hid anything growing up. My parents were PIs, so I really couldn’t.” She may have become a songbird instead of snooper, but in her own fashion, Lambert is following in the family business, as a private investigator of the heart—a trade she recommences with relish in her third album, Revolution. The 25-year-old star’s biggest hits have tended to be her boldest songs, so she’s not about to put a lid on her plain- spokenness now. “I mean every word I say in every lyric of every song on this record, and every record I’ve ever done,” she declares. “I would never take back one word or lyric or point I’ve ever made, because it’s part of who I am. And there are plenty of artists who wouldn’t do so much of that, if that’s the kind of music you’re into. But if you’re into honesty, I have the records for you,” she laughs. In her most successful single to date, “Gunpowder and Lead,” Lambert declared that some little girls are made less of sugar and spice than more combustible substances. And the title track of her 2005 platinum debut, Kerosene, established her in the country music firmament as a figuratively and maybe even literally incendiary personality.

Colbie Caillat is a pop singer-songwriter and acoustic guitarist. She debuted in 2007 with Coco, which included hit singles "Bubbly" and "Realize." In 2008, she recorded "Lucky", a duet with Jason Mraz, which won them a Grammy Award. Colbie released her second album, Breakthrough, in August 2009. Breakthrough was nominated for Best Pop Vocal Album at the 2010 Grammy Awards. Caillat was also part of the group that won Album of the Year at the 2010 Grammys for her background vocals and writing on Taylor Swift's Fearless album. In 2009 Caillat was named one of the top 100 artists of the decade by Billboard Magazine. In 2011, she released her third studio album, All of You, and in October 2012 she released her first Christmas album, called Christmas in the Sand.
