The offer was available for three months, after which the band released and commercialized the album, both digitally and in CD. In this paper, we use weekly music sales data in the US between 2004-2012 to examine the effect of Radiohead’s unorthodox strategy on the band’s al- bum sales. We find that Radiohead’s PYOP offer had no effect on the subsequent CD sales. Interestingly, it yielded higher digital album sales compared to a traditional release. -
Vaskeægte Girlpower I Lille VEGA Med Dum Dum Girls
Se det HER. -

Walter TV Carpe Diemlp/CD
Walter TV Carpe DiemLP/CD • Hometown: Vancouver, BC • Fall 2017 tour dates TBA • National college and speacialty radio campaign via Terrorbird • Mac DeMarco’s touring band • Third Album What is there to be said that hasn’t already been said about the old Walter TV band? Our main men in the group (Joe McMurray, Simon Ankenman, Pierce McGarry) are either aged 30 or close to. They do their best to make music that is meaningful, interesting, and…danceable? Emotionally razed these bad boys are pumping out of the ashes, instruments in hand. With their new release, Carpe Diem, Walter TV has taken their version of LYN-031 lo-fi recording to a near professional level (or at least attempted to). The album deals with all the classic tropes that no person can seem to escape 01. Begotten or avoid (except the enlightened few) including, suffering, loss, death, love, 02. Graceland 03. Springtime chaos, inevitability, declining conditions of earth, self inflicted spiritual pain, 04. Laura Palmer heart attacks, forfeiture of morals, yearning, attempts at doing the right thing, 05. Last Day karma (police), moments of clarity, depression, introversion/extroversion, the 06. Alaska Cruisin singularity, technological advancements, neglect, insults of opulence, lack of 07. -

Racial Gatekeeping in Country & Hip-Hop Music By Cervanté Pope Student ID #: 947767021 Portland State University Pope 2 Introduction In mass communication, gatekeeping refers to how information is edited, shaped and controlled in efforts to construct a “social reality” (Shoemaker, Eichholz, Kim, & Wrigley, 2001). Gatekeeping has expanded into other fields throughout the years, with its concepts growing more and more easily applicable in many other aspects of life. One way it presents itself is in regard to racial inclusion and equality, and despite the headway we’ve seemingly made as a society, we are still lightyears away from where we need to be. Because of this, the concept of cultural property has become even more paramount, as a means for keeping one’s cultural history and identity preserved. -

Abstract Two studies examined ghosting, a unilateral breakup strategy that involves avoiding technologically-mediated contact with a partner instead of providing a verbal indication of the desire to break up. Study 1 solicited open-ended responses regarding experiences with ghosting and explored associations between ghosting and a variety of dispositional and situational variables. Study 2 investigated differences in the process of relationship dissolution and post-breakup outcomes as a function of breakup role (disengager or recipient) and breakup strategy (ghosting or direct conversation) across two samples. -
