This is a massive project that is done in pieces, and when one piece is done it is necessary to put it aside for a while before gaining the energy and enthusiasm to continue. With the humorous conceits of Sir John Falstaffe.” The play was one of the most popular of Shakespeare’s works in print, with eight separate quarto editions in the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries.
