Muhammad Moniruzzaman, Bawadi B Abdullah, Sekhar Bhattacharjee† Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS, Chemical Engineering Department Bandar Seri Iskandar, 32610, Perak, Malaysia Abstract This study reports that ionic liquid mediated Elaeis. guineensis (oil palm) leaves extract can be used for reduction of gold precursor to obtain stable gold nanoparticles (AuNPs). E. guineensis leaf extract was prepared by using a mixture of distilled water and 2% aq. ionic liquid (1- Ethyl-3-methylimidazolium chloride) as solvents. UV-vis spectra of reaction medium showed surface plasmon resonance (SPR) peak (λmax) at 539-557 nm confirm formation of gold nanoparticles. λmax was blue shifted toward 539 nm with increase in volume extract up to 0.60 ml while further addition of extract in the reaction medium resulted in red shifting of SPR band. Emim chloride functioned as a capping agent and results in synthesis of small size gold nanoparticles. TEM image analysis confirmed that average particles size of gold nanoparticles was 20.09±12.36 nm synthesized with an aqueous solution containing 2% Emim chloride as compared to average particle size of 39.60±13.63 nm when only distilled water was used as solvent for extraction of oil palm leaves. FTIR spectra analysis of the extracts identified presence of phenolic, carboxylic and amide groups that play important roles in reduction of gold precursor. © 2016 The Authors.

Halal practices have proven worthy of choice and gained consumer attraction the world over.     Welcome to the Redstone Commodity Update 2020: Q3 Welcome to the Redstone Commodity Moves Update Q3 2020, another quarter in a year that has been strongly defined by the pandemic. Overall recruitment levels across the board are still down, although we have seen some pockets of hiring intent. There appears to be a general acknowledgement across all market segments that growth must still be encouraged and planned for, this has taken the form in some quite senior / structural moves. The types of hires witnessed tend to pre-empt more mid-junior levels hires within the same companies in following quarters, which leaves us predicting a stronger than expected finish to Q4 2020 and start to Q1 2021 than we had previously planned for coming out of Q2. The highest volume of moves tracked fell to the energy markets, notably, within power and gas and not within the traditional oil focused roles, overall, we are starting to see greater progress towards carbon neutrality targets. Banks such as ABN, BNP and SocGen have all reduced / pulled out providing commodity trade finance, we can expect competition for the acquiring of finance lines to heat up in the coming months until either new lenders step into the market or more traditional lenders swallow up much of the market. We must also be aware of the potential impact of the US elections on global trade as countries such as Great Britain and China (amongst others) await the outcome of the impending election. Many national trade strategies and corporate investment strategies will hinge on this result in a way that no previous election has.

A thesis submitted for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy De Montfort University June 2012 This thesis is sponsored by International Islamic University Malaysia and De Montfort University ABSTRACT This thesis presents an investigation into the viability of Low Energy Earth Pipe Cooling Technology in providing thermal comfort in Malaysia. The demand for air- conditioning in buildings in Malaysia affects the country escalating energy consumption. Therefore, this investigation was intended to seek for a passive cooling alternative to air-conditioning. By reducing the air-conditioning demand, there would be a higher chance of Malaysia government to achieve their aim in reducing CO2 emissions to 40 per cent by the year 2020, compared to 2005 levels. The passive technology, where the ground was used as a heat sink to produce cooler air, has not been investigated systematically in hot and humid countries. In this work, air and soil temperatures were measured on a test site in Kuala Lumpur. At 1m underground, the result is most significant, where the soil temperature are 6oC and 9oC lower than the maximum ambient temperature during wet and dry season, respectively. Polyethylene pipes were buried around 0.5m, 1.0m and 1.5m underground and temperature drop between inlet and outlet were compared. A significant temperature drop was found in these pipes: up to 6.4oC and 6.9oC depending on the season of the year. The results have shown the potential of Earth Pipe in providing low energy cooling in Malaysia.

A few notable highlights of our work in 2012 include: • The inaugural Meridian Global Leadership Summit was attended by 250 corporate and government stakeholders, and featured dynamic discussions with industry and diplomatic leaders on the future of global leadership; • A Service Innovation Summit in Madrid, Spain at which 200 service leaders from the U.S., Spain, and several countries discussed volunteerism as a solution for addressing pressing socio-economic challenges faced by communities worldwide; • The Young African Leaders Innovation Summit, where 62 young social and business entrepreneurs, from 42 African countries collaborated on innovative solutions for creating economic opportunity.

Corporate London Bumiputra-Commerce Holdings Berhad (BCHB) (formerly known as Commerce Asset-Holding Berhad) Group is a leading financial services player in Malaysia with a growing presence in South East Asia. BCHB has been listed on Bursa Malaysia Securities Berhad since 1987. As at 30 December 2005, it is the eighth largest company by market capitalisation amounting to RM15.698 billion. In 2005, the Group undertook a significant step towards creating a universal banking platform through the internal restructuring of its investment and commercial banking arms, namely CIMB Berhad and Bumiputra-Commerce Bank Bhd. Pemikiran cemerlang dari para arsitek abad ini dalam menyikapi permasalahan permukiman, terutama terkait dengan keterbatasan pemanfaatan lahan, mengundang pro dan kontra di masyarakat. Beranjak dari hal tersebut, pada ulasan ini yang merupakan apresiasi terhadap karya arsitektur, mengangkat arsitektur bioklimatik oleh Ken Yeang. Ken Yeang berusaha memecahkan sebagian permasalahan permukiman yang sedang dihadapi saat ini, khususnya di sejumlah kota besar. Melalui penjajaran antara bangunan modern, dalam hal ini arsitektur bioklimatik, dengan bangunan tradisional di Asia Tenggara secara umum, terutama dari segi ruang, pencahayaan, penghawaan, lansekap, bentuk dan elemen bangunan, serta konsep perancangan. Ulasan ini ingin mengetengahkan paradigma baru di balik tampilan karya arsitektur spektakuler Ken Yeang pada Mesiniaga Tower di Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, sehingga akan dapat membuka cakrawala baru dalam berarsitektur di Indonesia.
