It gives me great pleasure to present this annual report to the IPWEA NSW members, on the activities and overall performance of IPWEA NSW for the 2015-16 reporting period. This has been an exciting year for IPWEA NSW reaching new heights in our advocacy with increasing recognition of the critical role Engineers and Public Works Officers play in the well-being of NSW communities.

Disruption, innovation, change and resilience were all key words highlighted during the 2015 IPWEA NSW State Conference keynote address. The advice given was to gear up for change; find new ways of doing things. Not only for the sector we represent, but within our own organisation there has been the necessity to evolve, to grow, to be proactive in our purpose. The ambitious strategic plan and associated actions set by the Board is seeking to ensure IPWEA NSW is recognised as a skilled influencer of all tiers of Government and regulators; assist members with their careers and lift the profile of public works engineering.

The financial position of IPWEA (NSW Division) and the NSW Foundation remains strong following a sound trading performance. IPWEA (NSW Division) has made a profit in the year. The solid asset base of the NSW Foundation should enable it to deliver a sustainable program of endowments, scholarships and programs to members.

During 2015/16 financial year, the company, IPWEA (NSW Division) made an operating profit of $225.6k after tax.
