Eesha Karavade won Bronze in the Women’s section. ASIAN YOUTH CHESS CHAMPIONSHIP HELD AT SUBIC, PHILIPPINES FROM 14 TH TO 22 ND MAY, 2011. Indians won ten out of the twelve titles in the Asian Youth Chess Championship that concluded at Subic City in the Philippines on May 21, 2011. Girls won all the six titles. In the Under-12 section, Aravindh Chithambaram tied for first and won a silver medal. Among the winners, impressive was L.N.Ram Aravind of Tiruchi who became the only player to win all nine games in all 12 sections. Indians won 18 medals out of a maximum 36. India’s pet section was the Boys or Open Under-10 section and the Girls Under-10 section. We recorded podium sweeps there. All the three in both these sections scored the same number of points and tied for the first place.
