BOAT TRIP

After bidding for and winning the “boat trip” at the Vendange Lunch auction last September, myself and a motley crew of friends set off from Ste Maxime on board the “KYANOS” with our Captain, Lindsay Phillips, at the helm. Lindsay had kindly donated the trip to the BAV and was an excellent host. He was full of information about the places we visited and had a few tales to tell. It was a lovely sunny day and we took in the beautiful scenery as we cruised our way to Port Grimaud - what a beautiful sight!

Coasting up to a small bay near St Tropez, we weighed anchor and enjoyed apéros whilst contemplating the quaint restaurant where we were going to have lunch. A small motorized dinghy came along side, driven by a very handsome young man, to ferry us all to the venue (much to the delight of the ladies). We all enjoyed a leisurely and delicious lunch on the beach accompanied by some ice cold rosé. W e

then cruised around the headland looking at all the beautiful property belonging to the rich and famous, stopping alongside Brigitte Bardot’s small villa hoping to catch a glimpse. Following a further small glass of liquid refreshment we headed back to port. A thoroughly enjoyable and informative time was had by all and, following sundowners, we all headed home. We are delighted that Lindsey will be donating another day on this boat at this year's Vendange auction.
