This collaborative program between the Mildred Lane Kemper Art Museum and will explore the works of Minimalist artists Sol LeWitt and Donald Judd. Both artists are featured in the exhibition Notations: Contemporary as Idea and Process at the Kemper Art Museum, and their outdoor are on view at Laumeier Sculpture Park. Topics of discussion at the Museum will focus on the artists’ processes, examining a range of diagrams, preparatory sketches, and presentation drawings. At Laumeier, participants will view the sculptures themselves in their public setting, exploring issues of installation, maintenance, and conservation. Participants will also have the opportunity to assemble a LeWitt-inspired maquette and view some of the artist’s detailed installation instructions while at Laumeier.
