MODE have been delivering projects in the aviation environment for more than 20 years. Their services engage all design aspects of the modern airport, including airfield and terminal facilities, as well as, relative commercial and industrial developments on airport land holdings. MODE work collaboratively to integrate both the built environment and infrastructure requirements of any project. WE ADAPT existing spaces and infrastructure to accommodate current client requirements and flow projections. 3 Brisbane Domestic Client: Brisbane Airport Corporation The Common User Terminal is a unique space at the Brisbane Domestic Terminal building in that it Common User facilitates both passenger arrivals and departures in the one space for low cost carriers. With space at a Terminal Upgrade premium and passenger flow projections scheduled to grow exponentially, MODE were commissioned BRISBANE AIRPORT, QLD to collaborate with Brisbane Airport Corporation (BAC) to automate the check in facility and improve processing time for both check in and arrivals, allowing increased dwell times in the retail space. modedesigncorp.com Brisbane International Client: Brisbane Airport Corporation The primary concept of this project focused on creating an arrival identity for Brisbane, improving Baggage Reclaim the arrival experience, as well as upgrading the operational and performance requirements for the Theming Arrivals Hall and transition spaces between Immigration and Customs. The theme focused on BRISBANE AIRPORT, QLD creating a welcome mat to Brisbane that left a positive and lasting image on passengers. The concept included the implementation of a digital savvy, diverse language and family friendly wait space. 5 Brisbane Airport Client: Brisbane Airport Corporation MODE was engaged to deliver a new Vertical Transport connection between the existing Multi-deck Landside Infrastructure Car Park – P1 and the new Domestic Terminal Hotel. The architectural component of the project is BRISBANE AIRPORT, QLD secondary to the civil upgrade of the network access road and infrastructure upgrades. Due to the level of complexity of the overarching project, the separable portions have been delivered over 3 years to facilitate contractual negotiations between the hotel operator and BAC / BNE Property. modedesigncorp.com BAC PTA Control Room Client: Brisbane Airport Corporation MODE was engaged to facilitate BAC with the improvement of the Premium parking and Valet drop Upgrade & P1 Parking facilities at the Domestic Terminal Building. The focus for the project was to align the experience of Modifications the space with the end user, being patrons that require a higher service than the standard parking BRISBANE AIRPORT, QLD offered. In addition to the upgrade of P1 Valet and Premium Parking, MODE was also engaged to upgrade the current Control Room in a manner that improved the capacity for the operational team while also improving the operational efficiency and aesthetic of the space. 7 Virgin Aerobridge Client: Virgin Australia, Hansen Yuncken & Brisbane Airport Corporation The satellite infill was designed to facilitate the increased passenger flow, expanding the current Upgrade wait space by infilling the satellite garden. With the creation of new floor areas on Levels 1 and 2, the BRISBANE AIRPORT, QLD design optimises the available area for development and greater commuter numbers while upgrading facilities to accommodate Code D/E. This design allows for the expansion of the Virgin workplace. modedesigncorp.com Yo! Sushi Client: SSP SYDNEY AIRPORT, NSW London based YO!Sushi approached MODE to design the first YO!Sushi food outlet in Australia at Sydney Domestic Airport. MODE collaborated with the clients design team in London, local artists, concrete specialists and the airport authorities to deliver a design that perfectly reiterated the brands desire to create an urban playful design that was undeniably YO!Sushi and yet a completely unique YO!Sushi outlet. The attention to detail and the materials incorporated into the final design had to reflect a flagship approach and the design which was crafted in Black Chrome framework, polished concrete joinery and Solid timber panels. 9 Port Macquarie Airport Client: Port Macquarie - Hastings Council The primary objective and focus of the Port Macquarie Airport Terminal Building upgrade is to Terminal Upgrade expand/renovate the existing Terminal facility to maximise the floor area of the building (within PORT MACQUARIE, NSW budgetary constraints), and increase the functionality and capacity. This will improve the current level of service provided to customers and the community and to cater for forecast increase in airline services and passenger numbers over time. MODE has implemented principles of value management / engineering and cost effectiveness throughout this project to enable the client to achieve an IATA LOS Optimun standard on budget. modedesigncorp.com Airservices Australia Client: Airservices Australia MODE and Jacobs have been appointed to design and deliver Station West for ARFFS at Brisbane Fire Station Airport. With the introduction of the new parallel runway (NPR) in 2020, Airservices will be required BRISBANE AIRPORT, QLD to provide an additional ARFFS, Station West, to enable response coverage to the NPR and comply with CASA regulations. Once Station West is operational, the Satellite Station will be decommissioned. Station West is proposed
