Community Resource Guide Community Resource Guide 1 1. Community Service Agencies Executive Summary Welcome to the Scarborough Health Network Community Resource Guide! Scarborough is home to an incredible array of local health and community services. Whether you are a long-term resident or a newcomer, navigating healthcare services can often feel challenging. To provide easier access to health and community resources, the Community Resource Guide was created in 2012 and is revised annually in order to include any new resources and information that may become available. This guide is a useful tool and provides valuable information to help better navigate the many services available in the community and has connected individuals to appropriate health and community resources. The guide provides an overview of health services and community resources offered mainly in Scarborough. Where services are limited in Scarborough, the guide also captures services available in Markham and the Greater Toronto Area. This guide has been designed primarily for service provider and is made available online for the broader community. Whether you are a staff member, patient, family member, or community agency, this guide is intended to assist individuals in accessing the wide array of resources that are available. To facilitate easy access, this guide has been organized into 20 categories (e.g. services for children, youth, women, seniors, uninsured clients, etc.). Each service listed provides a brief description of the services offered, hours of operation and available languages. Although our current guide is quite extensive, we recognize that there could be some gaps that may not have been identified. Our future plan is to identify any vulnerable populations that may not have been addressed in our current guide and include this information in our future guide. We trust that you will find this guide helpful. 2 1. Community Service Agencies Table of Contents 1.
