    Biography Mark Ronson is an internationally renowned DJ and five-time-Grammy-Award-winning and Golden Globe-winning artist and producer. Ronson spent the first eight years of his life growing up in London, England. Having played guitar and drums from an early age, it wasn't until moving to New York City following his parents’ divorce, that he discovered DJ culture. At age 16, and already a fan of artists like A Tribe Called Quest, Run DMC and the Beastie Boys, Ronson began listening to mixtapes released by various hip hop DJs. Inspired, Ronson confiscated his step-father's vinyl collection and tried his hand at mixing. It was the first step in a career highlighted by work on a multi Grammy-winning album by Amy Winehouse, as well as his own Grammy-winning, global smash hit with Bruno Mars, "Uptown Funk." In the late 1990s into the early 2000s, the New York club scene was percolating with booming hip-hop and glitzy R&B. Ronson quickly earned himself a reputation through stints on the decks in downtown clubs before becoming the DJ of choice for many noteworthy parties. Hip-hop mogul Sean "P. Diddy" Combs hired Ronson to DJ his fabled 29th birthday bash. These and other high-profile gigs boosted Ronson's profile and connected him with other artists, many of whom were interested in collaborating. His first production gig came from British soul singer Nikka Costa and he found that his experience of working a club crowd informed his production skills. Fusing his eclectic turntable skills with his knowledge of musical instruments and songwriting, Ronson soon embarked on his first solo record.

Biographical Note by The HistoryMakers® Songwriter, producer and musician James Jason Poyser was born in Sheffield, England in 1967 to Jamaican parents Reverend Felix and Lilith Poyser. Poyser’s family moved to West Philadelphia, Pennsylvania when he was nine years old and he discovered his musical talents in the church. Poyser attended Philadelphia Public Schools and graduated from Temple University with his B.S. degree in finance. Upon graduation, Poyser apprenticed with the songwriting/producing duo Kenny Gamble and Leon Huff. Poyser then established the Axis Music Group with his partners, Vikter Duplaix and Chauncey Childs. He became a founding member of the musical collective Soulquarians and went on to write and produce songs for various legendary and award-winning artists including Erykah Badu, Mariah Carey, John Legend, Lauryn Hill, Common, Anthony Hamilton, D'Angelo, The Roots, and Keyshia Cole.

My čítame hudobné kritiky v domácej i zahraničnej tlači, píšeme vlastné a spoločne ich redigujeme. Ale nám je sveta žiť! Pre Vás ostatných sa naskytla jedinečná šanca nahliadnuť do nášho nášho sveta. Mladí nádejní hudobní kritici ešte nepokrivení drsnými podmienkami slovenského mediálneho priestoru prezentujú svoj pohľad na to, čo okolo seba počujú. Muzikus má na katedre hudobnej vedy svoju niekoľko ročnú tradíciu a na nadväzuje na triedu hudobnej kritiky Prof. Nadi Hrčkovej. Pri jeho čítaní si spoločne zaželajme veľa nových podnetov, ktoré by nás priviedli k sofistikovanejšiemu počúvaniu hudby. His father co-owned a barber shop that exposed King to funk and soul. His mother, who would take him to concerts, would occasionally bring King to visit her friend Sun Ra, Af- rofuturism pioneer, in his Philadelphia home. Sun Ra became one of Kings’s greatest musical influences. After a couple of dancefloor hits on Strictly Rhythm and Ovum (co-founded with Josh Wink), King produced the albums When the Funk Hits the Fan, and Re-Members Only (featuring Grover Washington Jr., De La Soul, Kathy Sledge, and others). This laid the foundation for King’s music production, as his sonic interests grew, including a broad range of genres, emerging and preeminent artists, and distinctive record labels. King’s solo work and remixes became integral to the changing landscape of dance music. Josh One “Contemplation” (King Britt Funke Mix) has become an Ibiza anthem along with Gus Gus “David” (King Britt Scuba Mix) and H-Foundation “Tonight” (King Britt Scuba Mix). The album was welcomed with open arms by fans and critics alike, including the FADER, Vice, Variety, Vulture, Bandcamp, and more. Today, they announce Flower of Devotion Remixed, out September 17th, and a North American tour. In conjunction, they share one of its tracks, “Flying - Physical Medium Remix.” The remix album sees Dehd surrounded by a myriad of close collaborators (Lala Lala, Protomartyr, Freak Heat Waves, and more). It points a shining spotlight on the Chicago music scene the band still calls home, staying true to the trio’s earnest melodies while creating an amorphous blend of experimentation in mutated indie pop that feels like a personal mixtape for the friends that know them best. The first single, “Flying - Physical Medium Remix,” was completed before the remix record was even conceived. “I'd like to give Physical Medium a special shout out for planting the seed and really opening my eyes and ears to the world of remixing,” says Jason Balla. “Their passion for it has been infectious.” “What I love about dance music is that it exists to put my body into motion,” Balla continues. “It can do so many things that a normal song can’t because of its humble mission: keep the asses shaking.
