Dehd Announce Flower of Devotion Remixed, out September 17Th Via Fire Talk, and North American Tour July 21, 2021 For Immediate Release DEHD ANNOUNCE FLOWER OF DEVOTION REMIXED, OUT SEPTEMBER 17TH VIA FIRE TALK, AND NORTH AMERICAN TOUR LISTEN TO “FLYING - PHYSICAL MEDIUM REMIX” Photo Credit: Keeley Parenteau Last summer, Chicago-based band Dehd released Flower of Devotion, “an effortless, elegantly rumpled strain of indie rock” (Best New Music, Pitchfork), via Fire Talk. The album was welcomed with open arms by fans and critics alike, including the FADER, Vice, Variety, Vulture, Bandcamp, and more. Today, they announce Flower of Devotion Remixed, out September 17th, and a North American tour. In conjunction, they share one of its tracks, “Flying - Physical Medium Remix.” The remix album sees Dehd surrounded by a myriad of close collaborators (Lala Lala, Protomartyr, Freak Heat Waves, and more). It points a shining spotlight on the Chicago music scene the band still calls home, staying true to the trio’s earnest melodies while creating an amorphous blend of experimentation in mutated indie pop that feels like a personal mixtape for the friends that know them best. The first single, “Flying - Physical Medium Remix,” was completed before the remix record was even conceived. “I'd like to give Physical Medium a special shout out for planting the seed and really opening my eyes and ears to the world of remixing,” says Jason Balla. “Their passion for it has been infectious.” “What I love about dance music is that it exists to put my body into motion,” Balla continues. “It can do so many things that a normal song can’t because of its humble mission: keep the asses shaking. Dance music is just plain fun. In this spirit, we invited 14 friends to chop up Flower of Devotion and put it back together as they saw fit. No rules, no guidelines. The songs went all over the place and it was really amazing to hear songs I knew so well become something new altogether. Hearing one of our voices or a guitar line in a new context really showed me how much room as a band we have to explore. It's already impacted how we approach writing at practice, figuring out the basics and then asking ‘now what?’” Listen to Dehd’s “Flying - Physical Medium Remix” This fall, Dehd will tour across North America, including a hometown appearance at Pitchfork Music Festival with an adjacent aftershow. Following, they’ll support Julien Baker on tour. Tickets are on sale now. Pre-order Flower of Devotion Remixed Flower of Devotion Remixed Tracklist 1.Flying - Physical Medium Remix 2. • Music for Boys, Girls, Queens and Kings: New Album Reviews
Music For Boys, Girls, Queens And Kings: New Album Reviews Music | Bittles’ Magazine: The music column from the end of the world After a short break where Titel Kulturmagazin went on an 18-30 holiday by mistake, we return this week with more album reviews than any sane person could ever need. After having to endure the tortured strangulations of EBM, and the hen party screeches of Ibiza for the last fortnight, fantastic albums by 2814, Wild Beasts, Bryan Ferry, Dinosaur Jr., Conduct, Gerd Janson, John Roberts, Riley Reinhold, Carl Craig are like manna to our ears. By JOHN BITTLES So, before we start trying to show off our sunburn, pass on an STD, or bore you with our holiday snaps, we had better begin… Last year’s Birth Of A New Day was an album which succeeded in immersing the listener within its own retro-futurist world. Overflowing with melancholy and wistfulness, it took the sounds associated with the burgeoning vaporwave scene, and created something visceral and real. This summer the duo of Telepath and HKE once again don their 2814 moniker to release the eagerly anticipated follow-up LP. Poignant, and dripping with a vivid sense of nostalgia, fans of Birth Of A New Day will be delighted to find that Rain Temple is every bit as good. Before The Rain opens proceedings with a feeling of hushed longing, somehow conjuring the image of standing lost within a cold metropolis where nobody knows your name. Further in, Guided By Love sounds like hearing long forgotten, but once beloved childhood songs coming from some far-off place, This Body can cause the unguarded to break down in tears, while Inside The Sphere brims with quiet resonance.

Monday, March 26, 2012 EIC's 10Q's w/ Derek Piotr "..between the scary, the mechanical, the maniacal & the emotionally inept.." Derek Piotr Maladroit Mechanized Acuity Derek Piotr Bio: Derek Piotr is a Poland-born sound artist based in New England, whose work focuses primarily on the voice. He has been intern to Meredith Monk, and had his work featured on The Wire’s Adventures in Modern Music program. Hello, how are you? I’m well; currently sorting releases for the 2012 and planning my live show a little more extensively, planning visuals and whatnot. I’m also in the middle of talking to radio stations for a new radio play I’ve composed. What are you currently listening to? Lately I’ve been listening to a lot of Morton Feldman and Harry Partch, but it being winter here, Björk’s album 'Vespertine' is on rotation too. Gudrun Gut’s album 'I Put A Record On' is getting a lot of spins, as is Steinbrüchel’s 'Skizzen'. Who were/are your biggest influences when it came to sculpting your sound? When I was about 16 and started putting my first experiments on the web, Last.fm recommended a bunch of similar artists to my work, and one of them was AGF. I am totally in love with her debut record, 'Head Slash Bauch', and her work in general. HSB really got inside my head while I was in high school, and I felt like I had to do something about it, so I contacted her and asked her a few questions, which snowballed into two years of trading emails with her and culminated in her offering to help produce my debut, 'AGORA'.

  • Front Line Assembly - Bio
FRONT LINE ASSEMBLY - BIO Front Line Assembly is the primary focus of Vancouver-based musician Bill Leeb. A founding member of Skinny Puppy, Leeb moved on to form FLA in 1986 with Michael Balch, releasing some cassettes (since released as Total Terror I & II) which paved the way for their 1987 releases: The Initial Command, State of Mind, and Corrosion. In late 1988, they recorded the mini-LP Disorder, since combined with Corrosion and released as Corroded Disorder. Their 1989 release, Gashed Senses and Crossfire, further cemented their popularity in the industrial scene, and prompted their first world tour. By 1990, Balch had departed and Rhys Fulber rounded out the duo, releasing Caustic Grip. But it was two years later when the duo released the classic album, Tactical Neural Implant, which has become for many, the genre's crowning moment. To this day, TNI still defines the best of industrial music. FLA enraged many of their fans in 1994 when they began to experiment with their established electronic-only sound. Millenium, with its heavy doses of live and sampled metal guitars, dared its audience to grow and expand with the band beyond industrial's perceived barriers. Front Line stepped to the firing line again in 1995 with Hard Wired, which reflected both a return to form and a continued embracing of the guitar. Hard Wired not only picked up where Implant left off, it improved on the sound by adding in elements of all of their side projects. A fall European tour was recorded for the 1996 release Live Wired, their first concert CD ever.

Since the late 1980s, Korean pop music has aspired to be a more advanced industry and establish an international presence, based on the economic leap and democratization as a springboard. Contemporary K-pop, originating from the underground dance scene in the 1980s, succeeded in transforming Korean pop music into a modern and youth-oriented genre with a new style dubbed "rap/dance music." The rise of dance music changed the landscape of Korean popular music and became the cornerstone of the K-pop idol music. In the era of globalization, K-pop’s unique aesthetics and strategy, later termed “Cultural Technology,” achieved substantial returns in the international market. Throughout this evolution, Korean Americans were vital players who brought K-pop closer to its mission of modern and international pop music. In the age of globalization, K-pop's modernity and identity are evolving in a new way.

  • Rock Album Discography Last Up-Date: September 27Th, 2021
Rock Album Discography Last up-date: September 27th, 2021 Rock Album Discography “Music was my first love, and it will be my last” was the first line of the virteous song “Music” on the album “Rebel”, which was produced by Alan Parson, sung by John Miles, and released I n 1976. From my point of view, there is no other citation, which more properly expresses the emotional impact of music to human beings. People come and go, but music remains forever, since acoustic waves are not bound to matter like monuments, paintings, or sculptures. In contrast, music as sound in general is transmitted by matter vibrations and can be reproduced independent of space and time. In this way, music is able to connect humans from the earliest high cultures to people of our present societies all over the world. Music is indeed a universal language and likely not restricted to our planetary society. The importance of music to the human society is also underlined by the Voyager mission: Both Voyager spacecrafts, which were launched at August 20th and September 05th, 1977, are bound for the stars, now, after their visits to the outer planets of our solar system (mission status: https://voyager.jpl.nasa.gov/mission/status/). They carry a gold- plated copper phonograph record, which comprises 90 minutes of music selected from all cultures next to sounds, spoken messages, and images from our planet Earth. There is rather little hope that any extraterrestrial form of life will ever come along the Voyager spacecrafts. But if this is yet going to happen they are likely able to understand the sound of music from these records at least.
