STOJANOVIĆ2 1Institute for Nature Conservation of Serbia, Radnička 20a, 21000 Novi Sad, Serbia 2Fruška Gora National Park, Zmajev trg 1, 21208 Sremska Kamenica, Serbia ABSTRACT: Determinated of new longhorn beetle material (Coleoptera: Cerambycidae) collected on Mt. Fruška Gora during the period of 2002 - 2005 has shown the presence of 29 species and three sub- species. Of that number, one species is new to the Serbian fauna, seven species or subspecies are regis- tered for the first time for Mt. Fruška Gora, three species are Balkan endemics, and 10 species or sub- species are rare in Serbia. The presence of Icosium tomentosum atticum Ganglbauer, 1881 in Serbia is confirmed by this entomological investigation. KEYWORDS: Cerambycidae, endemic and rare species, Balkan Mt. Fruška Gora INTRODUCTION Mount Fruška Gora is in many respects (geomorphological, faunistic, floristic, etc.) a special mountain massif. It is cut off from the rest of the Dinarid system and is surrounded by lowland. Since the 1950’s a few researchers investigated the mountain’s entomofauna (ADAMOVIĆ, 1950, 1965; MIKŠIĆ, 1963; ILIĆ, 2005; PIL and STOJANOVIĆ, 2005a, b). Until now 126 cerambycid species were registered on this massif. That number includes some species which were there noted for the first time for Serbia, as well as rare and endemic species. MATERIAL AND METHODS Material was collected on field trips on Mt. Fruška Gora during the period of 2002 - 2005.

  • Coleoptera: Cerambycidae)

  • The Longhorn Beetles (Coleoptera: Cerambycidae) of the City of Kragujevac (Central Serbia)
Kragujevac J. Sci. 37 (2015) 149-160 . UDC 591.9:595.768.1(497.11) THE LONGHORN BEETLES (COLEOPTERA: CERAMBYCIDAE) OF THE CITY OF KRAGUJEVAC (CENTRAL SERBIA) Filip Vukajlovi ć and Nenad Živanovi ć Institute of Biology and Ecology, Faculty of Science, University of Kragujevac, Radoja Domanovi ća 12, 34000 Kragujevac, Republic of Serbia E-mails: [email protected], [email protected] (Received March 31, 2015) ABSTRACT. This paper represents the contribution to the knowledge of the longhorn beetle (Coleoptera: Cerambycidae) fauna of the City of Kragujevac (Central Serbia). Ba- sed on the material collected from 2010 to 2014 by authors, as well as on available litera- ture data, 66 species and 13 subspecies from five subfamilies were recorded, while the highest number of species is registered within the subfamilies Cerambycinae (26) and La- miinae (19). Four species are rarely found in Serbia: Vadonia moesiaca (Daniel & Daniel, 1891), Stictoleptura cordigera (Füsslins, 1775), S. erythroptera (Hagenbach, 1822), and Isotomus speciosus (Schneider, 1787). Subspecies Saphanus piceus ganglbaueri Branc- sik, 1886 is Balkan endemic. Six of recorded taxa [Cerambyx (Cerambyx ) cerdo cerdo Linnaeus, 1758, Morimus asper funereus (Mulsant, 1863), Agapanthia kirbyi (Gyllenhal, 1817), Cortodera flavimana flavimana (Waltl, 1838), Vadonia moesiaca and Saphanus piceus ganglbaueri ] are protected both nationally and internationally. The largest number of recorded taxa belong to Euro-Mediterranean (26) and Euro-Siberian (21) chorotypes. This suggests that both the habitats and climate in the City of Kragujevac and Central Serbia are increasingly assuming more sub-Mediterranean and subtropical features, primarily due to the negative human impact. Keywords: Cerambycidae, fauna, Kragujevac, chorotypes, Central Serbia.

  • The Lepturine
The Lepturine Longhorn Beetles (Cerambycidae: Lepturinae) (The large beetle on the bottom right does not occur in the Pacific Northwest.) of the Pacific Northwest and Other Stories Phil Schapker, M.S. Web version 1.1 April, 2017 Forward to Web Version 1.1 - May, 2017: The current work is a continuation of a chapter from my MS thesis at Oregon State University, completed in Sept. of 2014. Much of this version is copied directly from that document with several additions and corrections to the text, and a number of new photographs. The intitial goal of my thesis was to create a field guide to the PNW lepturines that was useful both to amateur enthusiasts and to scientists in need of a more detailed technical resource. Unfortunately, the work was forshortened due to time constraints for finishing at OSU, and my ultimate pursuit remains a work in progress. After a brief hiatus from active research, I’ve taken back up the effort. The key to genera is largely based on Linsley & Chemsak’s two-part monograph published in 1972 and 1976. It is currently undergoing testing with the intention to incorporate simpler language, a glossary, and photographic aids. I would greatly appreciate any comments, ideas, corrections, or additions. Feel free to email [email protected]. Acknowledgements: Special thanks to Brady Richards for his meticulous help in proofreading the present draft and getting it up on BugGuide. Also to my former adviser, Chris Marshall, for his continued advice and mentorship, and for allowing me to use the resources of the Oregon State Arthropod collection to conduct my research and photograph specimens.
