The Greater ’s winter Jr. Zoologist camp is taking place on Monday, December 19th – Friday, December 23rd. Join us for a day or for the whole week while we explore what animals do to survive the winter while we enjoy the holiday season. Kids will conduct experiments, create enrichment items for animals, make winter themed crafts, and more!

Monday: Winter in North America  Our home is a chilly place to be in the winter and the animals that call North America home have adapted many ways of dealing with the cold. We will become explorers and discover them all. Tuesday: Winter in North America  There is so much going on in North American winters that we are going to dedicate two days to covering all the fascinating critters! Wednesday: Winter in South America  Taking a trip South, December isn’t all that bad in South America as it is summer time! We will cover how seasons are different around the world and how animals in South America deal with their winter season. Thursday: Winter in Europe & Asia  Back to colder temperatures we will focus on animals that call places like the Siberian tundra and the high Himalayan mountains home for the winter. Friday: Winter in Africa  Like South America, December is warm in most of Africa – that doesn’t mean the animals there are excluded from their fair share of bad weather for winter though.
