An earthy, tobacco scented nose and round, chocolate fruit on the palate. Less tannin Straw, earthy mushroom nose. The fruit on the palate than the Chambolle Charmes, but more power and has a white and milk chocolate character. Quite angular rustic components in the fruit, with a nice blast of – typical for the Aligoté grape, with a lemon juice acidity on the finish. 18.4/20 finish. 17.8/20 2004 Charmes- Grand Cru 2004 Bourgogne Rouge Black opaque color. A very ripe and powerful nose, Cuvée du Pinson almost like eucalyptus which carries over to the palate. Good crimson color. A rustic beefy nose, and also on Very refined – a grand cru in its elegance, it has lovely the palate. Silky tannins and acids that take hold of the . Light crimson color. Fleshy fruit with good Pinot Very Pinot with its burnt orange and black cherry character. Some smoke and bittersweet chocolate on elements. A good, concentrated finish. 18.7/20 that palate – mocha and caramel, too. An easy finish. 17.3/20 2004 Chambertin Grand Cru Relatively light in color. A very rustic nose and silky, 2004 Morey-St.-Denis Cuvée des Grives meaty fruit. Some raisin bran aromas and flavors, too. Deep crimson color. A nose of red fruits and a fruity Quite simple on the finish for a grand cru. 17.9/20 palate of cassis and strawberry. Quite thick in its intensity. Very juicy and very Pinot. 17.5/20 2004 Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru Cuvée Vieilles Vignes 2004 Gevrey-Chambertin Very deep, almost inky in color. Again the minty Cuvée de l’Abeille eucalyptus that was evident in the Charmes- Black licorice and caraway seed nose. Mineraly, smoky Chambertin. Very round black fruit elements - black fruit. Quite angular. Some beefy fruit on the mid-palate cherries and blackberries - very raisined and ripe with with a cherry finish. 17.7/20 a lovely round muscular, tannic finish. 18.7/20

2004 Chambolle-Musigny Premier Cru les Charmes Deepest color so far. A ripe nose with coffee/toffee fruit. Quite ripe on the palate, too. Sweet, minty dark chocolate elements. It has a lovely balance of tannins and rich fruit – a beautiful balanced finish. 18.2/20

2004 Chapelle-Chambertin Grand Cru Deep color. A spice-cake nose with very round, flowery fruit. Rustic too, with lots of burnt orange and candied fruit on the finish. 18.8/20

2004 Clos St. Denis Grand Cru Cuvée Vieilles Vignes Dark color. Red licorice on the nose and also on the palate. Very meaty, with a full-bodied texture. Very silky, too, with lots of power and finesse. Superb. 19/20

2004 Grand Cru Cuvée Vieilles Vignes Deep crimson in color. Very smoky, round, layered fruit. Stylish, with a big chocolate cherry and nut character to the fruit along with some date and fig elements. Very classy and distinguished – a lovely example of the best of 2004. 19.1/20
