Miller High Life Theatre Event Advisory
ADDRESS PHONE NUMBER WEBSITE 500 W. Kilbourn Avenue, Milwaukee, WI 53203 414.908.6000 MillerHighLifeTheatre.com FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Sarah Maio [email protected] 414-908-6056 King Crimson Announce “Music Is Our Friend” North American Tour Dates 2021 King Crimson comes to the Miller High Life Theatre on August 31, 2021 MILWAUKEE – (June 7, 2021) – The Miller High Life Theatre and Alternative Concert Group are proud to welcome King Crimson with special guest The Zappa Band to the Miller High Life Theatre, August 31, 2021. Artist VIP presale is June 9 at 11 a.m., and venue presale is June 10th at 10 a.m. Tickets go on sale to the public Friday, June 11 at noon at the Miller High Life Theatre box office or Ticketmaster. When King Crimson returns to action this July, it will be the seventh year that the band has toured since returning to performing live in 2014, a run only interrupted by the lockdown in 2020. In that time, the audience has been reinvented, as much as the band itself, something Robert Fripp noted after the band’s performance in Pompeii, Italy’s famous amphitheater: “In Pompeii, a large percentage of the audience was young couples; KC moved into the mainstream in Italy. I walked onstage knowing that this band's position in the world has changed level.” - Robert Fripp The band’s shows regularly include material from twelve of their thirteen studio albums, including many songs from their seminal 1969 album In the Court of the Crimson King, described by Pete Townshend as an “uncanny masterpiece.” The 7-piece line-up play many historic pieces, which Crimson has never previously played live, as well as new arrangements of Crimson classics – “the music is new whenever it was written.” There are also new instrumentals and songs, as well as compositions by the three drummers, Pat Mastelotto, Gavin Harrison and Jeremy Stacey, which are a regular highlight. -

KING CRIMSON – 01. -
King Crimson – Live in Chicago
Schlagzeugern bedeutet. -

Roll of Thunder Hear My Cry
ROLL OF THUNDER HEAR MY CRY MILDRED D. TAYLOR NEWBERY MEDAL WINNER Author's Note My father was a master storyteller. He could tell a fine old story that made me hold my sides with rolling laughter and sent happy tears down my cheeks, or a story of stark reality that made me shiver and be grateful for my own warm, secure surroundings. He could tell stories of beauty and grace, stories of gentle dreams, and paint them as vividly as any picture with splashes of character and dialogue. His memory detailed every event of ten or forty years or more before, just as if it had happened yesterday. By the fireside in our northern home or in the South where I was born, I learned a history not then written in books but one passed from generation to generation on the steps of moonlit porches and beside dying fires in one-room houses, a history of great-grandparents and of slavery and of the days following slavery: of those who lived still not free, yet who would not let their spirits be enslaved. From my father the storyteller I learned to respect the past, to respect my own heritage and myself. From my father the man I learned even more, for he was endowed with a special grace that made him tower above other men. He was warm and steadfast, a man whose principles would not bend, and he had within him a rare strength that sustained not only my sister and me and all the family but all those who sought his advice and leaned upon his wisdom. -

Their ground-breaking debut In The Court Of The Crimson King (1969), described by Pete Townshend as "an uncanny masterpiece", began a career that has spanned nearly five decades. The current 8-piece lineup – its ninth since 1969 – includes founder Robert Fripp on guitar, Tony Levin on bass, singer-guitarist Jakko Jakszyk, and Mel Collins on flute and saxophones alongside the drummers and multi-instrumentalists, Gavin Harrison, Pat Mastelotto, Jeremy Stacey and Bill Rieflin. -
King Crimson – Live in Vienna
