WE ARE th ONE VOICE 25 Anniversary Concert

January 26, 2013 With guests KAIROSalive! 3:00 pm & 7:30 pm The Cowles Center Jane Ramseyer Miller, Artistic Director 528 Hennepin Avenue Mindy Eschedor, Accompanist Minneapolis, MN

Building community and creating social change by raising our voices in song. 25th Anniversary Concert 1

Welcome from the Artistic Director YOUR NAME IN LIGHTS! Cell phones, reality TV, and legalized marriage (in a few states)... So much has changed since One Voice singers entered the stage in 1988 with fear and trepi- dation only to be received with exuberant applause. When I began working with the chorus 19 years ago, we asked permission each time we took a photo for fear of repercussions from employment, family and places of worship. Today our singers are fully out in all of our performance venues, and we have been invited to sing in communities that we never imagined possible 25 years ago.

This anniversary concert celebrates the many diverse voices that make up the chorus along with

S the unique collaborations we have enjoyed. Concerts that have made me most proud include T

R our youth-focused concert at Heart of the Beast, the “UnSilenced” collaboration with three

E Jewish synagogues, and certainly our performances last spring for Chorus America and Minne- N

G sota Public Radio. T

H HENNEPIN Your voices are a key part of the One Voice story. Thank you for helping shape One Voice into AVENUE BANNER what we are today and influencing where our mission and music will take us in the next 25 years PERSONALIZATION ahead! PROGRAM – Jane Ramseyer Miller

YOUR NAME HERE Thank You from the Artistic Director A huge thank you to Scott Lykins, our accompanist for the past year! Look for Scott on stage with One Voice this spring as our featured cello soloist!

One Voice Mixed Chorus unites gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender people and straight allies to build community and create social change by raising our voices in song. As the largest GLBT chorus in North OK, YOUR NAME on a Hennepin Avenue light pole banner for the America, One Voice is known for its musical excellence, diverse pro- month of June. Banner personalization makes a great holiday gift and gramming, and deep commitment to community outreach. The 100 allows you to honor someone in your life, thank or recognize a person or singing members range from ages 17 to 75, and the “Fifth Section” boasts more than 50 non-singing volunteers. Whether performing in organization, and show your support of the greater GLBT community. schools, at community events, or on stage for marquee concerts, One Each personalization comes with a certificate suitable for gifting. Voice inspires transformation through passionate, vibrant, and cre- ative performances. The award-winning chorus, under the direction of Visit www.tcpride.org for details. Artistic Director Jane Ramseyer Miller, has performed for thousands of people throughout the Twin Cities, Greater Minnesota and beyond and is described by Chorus America as “one of the region’s best ensembles.”
