Son parcours est ponctué de scènes mythiques "Le Golf Drouot, l'Olympia, le Petit Journal", différents festivals Festival de Genève, Festival d'Aurillac, Festival Lowcountry Blues Bash Charleston (USA) avec Béverly Guitar Watkins, Shrimp City Slim et d'autres musiciens outre atlantique. Vocals & Guitar - Bruce Stringkiller Founder member. Originaire du Zaïre, après des études en Angleterre et un travail chez les Beatles. Bruce est venu en France via les Etats Unies. Elevé sur la musique africaine et le Blues, Bruce chante et joue de la guitare dans Dr Pickup. Bruce est également l’auteur compositeur de Dr Pickup. Il a passé 10 fois aux USA des les Festivals de Savannah (Ga), Charleston (SC) et Camden (SC) avec Dr Pickup, Shrimp City Slim et Wanda Johnson Piano and vocals - Jean Pierre Guillaume Jean Pierre Guillaume, Piano and Organ Boogie blues pianist widely recognized in France following his performances at festivals and various stages. He brings a swing to magnificant Dr Pickup band and a left hand from burning hell on the shuffles. A devout disciple of Champion Jack Dupree, Professor Longhair, Fats Domino, Big Joe Turner, Otis Spann, Sunnyland Slim, Albert Ammons, Pete Johnson, Sammy Price, Lloyd Glenn, Meade Lux Lewis, Leroy Carr, Pinetop Perkins, Blind John Davis, Detroit Junior Little Brother Montgomery, Snooks Eaglin and Willie Smith. Jean Pierre is also a professor of music. He joined the band mid 2009, and after a very heavy concert schedule had to take a leave of absence but continues to perform at least once a month with the band. The show was evacuated, only for King to realize he'd left his Gibson inside, who dove back in to retrieve it. King would later name that first guitar and every forth-coming guitar Lucille, after the woman the two patrons fought over. Fast-forward to 1968, when B.B. King released the album Lucille, (Produced by jazz/blues production legend Bob Thiele) and told the story in full on the eponymous title track. Since that time King has owned a slew of other guitars, all of them named Lucille, and has a deep-seated appreciation for each one. As he says on the album's title track: "I’ve had many guitars since that first incident, and I always call them Lucille. She’s taken me a long way, even brought me some fame...Most of all, she’s kept me alive...being able to eat." Lucille represents early B.B. King at his finest. It's the last traditional blues album before 1969's Completely Well would establish a trademark brand of blues music mixed with lushly arranged string ensembles.

In addition to her musicianship, Evans is noted as an activist for parity in music education as well as a promoter of the legacy of Blues music. As she often said, “I’ve been around a long time and I’ve really paid my dues.” She was age of eighty-one. A family statement did not reveal the cause of death. The lengthy career of the unsung, effervescent entertainer is chronicled in her first biographical memoir, “Margie Evans: The Classy, Sophisticated Queen of the Blues, due for release on Amazon in two weeks. In all of her endeavors, Evans embodied African American women of courage, faith and wisdom who demanded respect. In each of her acting roles, radio commercials, iconic albums and international tours, she represented complex, decisive women, articulating a profound grace, depth, perseverance and dignity in each of her performances. Marjorie Ann Johnson was born in 1939 in Shreveport, Louisiana, in the United States. She chose to be known as Margie. Raised as a devout Christian, Margie Evans’ early exposure to music was through gospel, inspired by her mother, Mrs. Veva Williams, who taught Latin and piano.     I grew up during the heyday of pop instrumental music in the 1950s and the 1960s (there were 30 instrumental hits in the Top 40 in 1961), and I would listen to the radio faithfully for the 30 seconds before the hourly news when they would play instrumentals (however the first 45’s I bought were vocals: Bimbo by Jim Reeves in 1954, The Ballad of Davy Crockett with the flip side Farewell by Fess Parker in 1955, and Sixteen Tons by Tennessee Ernie Ford in 1956). But most critical acclaim is heaped on the period before New York@Night 1964. Ascension, recorded in 1965, is considered by many the end of Coltrane as a 4 legitimate jazz musician, as he moved away from his roots into the burgeoning Interview: Fred Ho avant garde and free jazz scenes. But another group see Coltrane’s shift in this direction helping to propel these new forms, not least because of his championing 6 by Ken Waxman of such musicians as Pharoah Sanders, Archie Shepp, John Tchicai and Marion Artist Feature: Enrico Pieranunzi Brown, now all legends in their own rights.     Aladdin Records by Frank Daniels As the Mesners tried to register the trademark for Philo Records, which they had founded during the War, they faced resistance from the Philco Radio Corporation, who indicated that the Philo name may cause confusion. After over a month of discussion, the Mesner brothers decided to change their business to Medlee (= M + Ed + Lee). They dropped that idea within a week or two, however, in favor of another name: Aladdin. With that name, the label would be popular throughout the R&B scene during the early 1950s. Aladdin Records was known predominantly as a singles label. In fact, the main label only released two 78-RPM albums, nine ten-inch LPs, and nine twelve-inch LPs. Their budget subsidiary, Score, issued more than thirty low-cost albums before slowing down their whole release schedule in 1959. In 1962, Imperial Records bought out the Aladdin, and most of Aladdin’s most popular releases were reissued on the Imperial label.
