The best song on the album is gospel-inspired "Spiritual," a song where Cash spills out all his pain and despair: "I know I have sinned/But, Lord, I'm Suffering/Jesus, oh Jesus, I don't want to die alone." Unchained also contains a completed version of "Mean Eyed Cat," a song Cash had not finished when he wrote and recorded it in 1955. Cash also released "Meet me in Heaven," a song he wrote more than 30 years ago when his brother died. Johnny Cash is the only hope for country music.
