The boys were exposed to the research process and then putting it to use in real-life actiities. e used awn, powdered polymers, corn syrup, water and glycerin in different quantities to try to find which recipe is the best. Some of our bubbles were more than feet long! e obsered how light is diffused through bubbles, and how shadows showed beautiful rainbow colors. ll of this learning was student centered, and didnt come from the teachers. The boys worked in groups and had to problem sole as problems arose. JDBY NEWS 8TH GRADE GRADUATION TRIP After a successful year of fundraising, including Monday Funday, Chanuka bags, wrapping paper and potato peelers, (yes we still have some left!), our 8th grade went on a spectacular three-day trip to St. Louis! Leaving the school at 7:50 am, the girls arrived at the Arch to see a true feat of engineering. The girls saw a film of how the Arch was made and then took a thrilling trip up to the top, over 600 feet above the ground. From there we met with the 8th grade of Torah Prep of St. Louis. We had a wonderful barbeque and went from there to Kokomo Joes for bowling, miniature golf, bumper cars and laser tag. Coming back to the hotel, we unpacked and went swimming! The next day the Ribono Shel Olam blessed us with a beautiful day to enjoy Grant’s Farm, a unique zoo of endangered species and the original home of Ulysses S. Grant. We then went roller-blading and picnicked supper at a beautiful park.
