CALL TO WORSHIP The Lord is my shepherd; I have all that I need. He lets me rest in green meadows; he leads me beside peaceful streams. He renews my strength. He guides me along right paths, bringing honor to his name. Even when I walk through the darkest valley, I will not be afraid, for you are close beside me. Your rod and your staff protect and comfort me. You prepare a feast for me in the presence of my enemies. You honor me by anointing my head with oil. My cup overflows with blessings. Surely your goodness and unfailing love will pursue me all the days of my life, and I will live in the house of the Lord forever.

By his stripes we are healed, by his nail pierced hands, we're free By his blood we're washed clean, now we have the victory

The power of sin is broken, Jesus overcame it all He has won our freedom, Jesus has won it all

Hallelujah, you have won the victory Hallelujah, you have won it all for me

THE BLOOD WILL NEVER LOSE ITS POWER By Andrae Crouch, © 1966 Manna Music, Inc. CCLI Song # 11885 -- CCLI License # 1888971

The blood that Jesus shed for me way back on Calvary The blood that gives me strength from day to day It will never lose its power

It reaches to the highest mountain It flows to the lowest valley The blood that gives me strength from day to day It will never lose its power

It soothes my doubts and calms my fears and it dries all my tears The blood that gives me strength from day to day It will never lose its power

It reaches to the highest mountain It flows to the lowest valley The blood that gives me strength from day to day It will never lose its power

LAMENT As a deer longs for flowing streams, so I long for you, God. I thirst for God, the living God. When can I come and appear before God? My tears have been my food day and night, while all day long people say to me, “Where is your God?”

I remember this as I pour out my heart: how I walked with many, leading the festive procession to the house of God, with joyful and thankful shouts. Why, my soul, are you so dejected? Why are you in such turmoil? Put your hope in God, for I will still praise him, my Savior and my God.

I am deeply depressed; therefore I remember you from the land of Jordan and the peaks of Hermon, from Mount Mizar. I hear the tumult of the raging seas as your waves and surging tides sweep over me. The Lord will send his faithful love by day; his song will be with me in the night— a prayer to the God of my life.

— Psalm 42:1-7

ASSURANCE Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth. Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called the children of God. Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted. So you have sorrow now, but I will see you again; then you will rejoice, and no one can take that joy away from you.

SCRIPTURE READING For the kingdom of heaven is like a landowner who went out early in the morning to hire workers for his vineyard.Afer agreeing with the workers on one denarius, he sent them into his vineyard for the day. When he went out about nine in the morning, he saw others standing in the marketplace doing nothing. He said to them, ‘You also go into my vineyard, and I’ll give you whatever is right.’ So off they went. About noon and about three, he went out again and did the same thing. Then about five he went and found others standing around and said to them, ‘Why have you been standing here all day doing nothing?’

“‘Because no one hired us,’ they said to him.

“‘You also go into my vineyard,’ he told them. When evening came, the owner of the vineyard told his foreman, ‘Call the workers and give them their pay, starting with the last and ending with the first.’

“When those who were hired about five came, they each received one denarius. So when the first ones came, they assumed they would get more, but they also received a denarius each. When they received it, they began to complain to the landowner: ‘These last men put in one hour, and you made them equal to us who bore the burden of the day’s work and the burning heat.’

“He replied to one of them, ‘Friend, I’m doing you no wrong. Didn’t you agree with me on a denarius? Take what’s yours and go. I want to give this last man the same as I gave you. Don’t I have the right to do what I want with what is mine? Are you jealous because I’m generous?’

“So the last will be first, and the first last.”
