This report explains the preliminary observation in selection of site for installation of large-scale solar parks based on topology. Location: The proposed location for solar project has been identified by NREDCAP Ltd., an ideal location in terms of setting up an ultra-mega solar park considering availability of barren land, topology and solar irradiance. Report Prepared by Deltacons 3 Solar Park Feasibility Report Kalasapadu mandal is located in northern side of the YSR Kadapa District with Prakasam District as its boundary. There are 26 villages falling under Kalasapadu Mandal. Figure 1: District administration map of Cuddapa. The proposed site is spread across single stretch of 10 villages in Kalasapadu mandal and Sri Avaduta Kasinayana. Below is the list of villages feasible for the project. Topographical analysis has been done considering the 5 meter contour interval and drainage network of the above mentioned villages and found that out of 15,972 acres available, about 10,000 Acres of land will be useful for solar park after leaving village habitations, forest land, streams, ponds and hills. However, the exact village wise land extent and land classifications for the project can be known by digitization and studying the village maps. Report Prepared by Deltacons 6 Solar Park Feasibility Report Topology: From the contour drawing is understood that, land available in the above said villages are mostly plain surrounded by hills towards North East side of the site. Figure 4: Useful area for solar project Report Prepared by Deltacons 8 Solar Park Feasibility Report Energy Estimates: Considering the above-mentioned location, annual energy production for 300 MW block is estimated using PVsyst 7.0.5 simulation software for multi-crystalline PV modules and irradiation data from Meteonorm 7.3 have been analyzed. The table below shows the simulation results of Annual energy production. Conclusion: From the above parameters, it is observed that Kalasapadu site is best suited for installation of large solar parks considering the topography and generation of the site. College for Men (Autonomous), Kadapa-516004, AP, India *Corresponding author e-mail: [email protected] ABSTRACT The present study explores the traditional medicinal plants of Lankamalleswara wildlife sanctuary, Kadapa District, Andhra Pradesh, India. Objective: The prime objective of the study is to document the traditional medicinal plants used by tribal people inhabiting the sanctuary. Methods: The ethnobotanical studies carried out during 2013-15. The information was collected through interviews, discussions and observations. Many tribal pockets were visited to interact local people and gathered information about medicinal plants. Results: The present investigation revealed the medicinal properties of 96 species belonging to 88 genera under 47 families. The most cited family was Apocyanaceae (9) followed by Lamiaceae (6), Fabaceae (6), Malvaceae (5), Capparaceae (4), Rubiaceae (3), Combretaceae (3), Menispermaceae (3), Asteraceae (3), Convolvulaceae (3), Moraceae (3), Verbenaceae (3), (3), Euphorbiaceae (2), Amaranthaceae (2), Liliaceae (2), Caesalpinaceae (2), Cleomaceae (2), Solanaceae (2), Loganiaceae (2) and remaining families contributed one species. Conclusion: The study concludes that there is a urgent need to conserve the plant resources of study area from over exploitation and illegal trade of rare plants like Red sanders. This is the most valuable district level publication brought out by the Census Organisation on behalf of each State Govt./ Union Territory administration. It Inter­ alia Provides data/information on some of the basic demographic and socio-economic characteristics and on the availability of certain important civic amenities/facilities in each village and town of the respective districts. This publication has thus proved to be of immense utility to the planners., administrators, academicians and researchers. The scope of the DCH was initially confined to certain important census tables on population, economic and socio-cultural aspects as also the Primary Census Abstract (PCA) of each village and town (ward wise) of the district. The DCHs published after the 1961 Census contained a descriptive account of the district, administrative statistics, census tables and Village and Town Directories including PCA. After the 1971 Census, two parts of the District Census Handbooks (Part-A comprising Village and Town Directories and Part-B compriSing Village and Town PCA) were released in all the States and Union Territories. The third Part (C) of the District Census Handbooks comprising administrative statistics and district census tables, which was also to be brought out, could not be published in many States/UTs due to considerable delay in compilation of relevant material.
