Participants should bring the following: Samples of work (to be viewed digitally) Unfinished work (plates, prints, etc.) that you might want to continue Sketchbook, ideas Photographs of interest to you that you might want to consider in your work Objects/drawings/patterns to photocopy One pair of rubber gloves Apron Scraper, burnisher, etching needles, if you plan to use them Basic personal-use art supplies - ruler, scissors, tape, x-acto knife, sharpies, pencils Any specific etching inks/colors you prefer to work with Acrylic sheeting and/or plexiglass for monoprinting/drypoint (WSW has .040 clear petg plates available, and smaller sizes of ⅛” thick plexi glass) Printmaking paper(s) you have that you would like to bring with you
Optional Materials: Materials for rubbing (crayon) Materials for collagraph/intaglio plates - single/double ply chipboard/cardboard For monoprinting: gouache, watercolors, caran d'ache crayons, tempera, colored pencils Textured materials: spring, fabrics, modeling paste, gesso, acrylic mediums for sealing, etc. Organic ventilation mask if you have one. Especially if you plan to work with hard or soft grounds etc. WSW has some studio scrapers, burnishers, and etching needles for communal use, but we recommend bringing your personal tools if you have them and can travel with them!
WSW has basic printmaking paper, copper plates, .020 plexi plates, chipboard, blotters, bookboard, and matte board for sale. Email [email protected] if you have any questions!
