Final SEMP consultation document - DOC-6163141 - DRAFT 07-02-2020 33 20200088 TOIA Binder Doc 1 Page 1 of 82 From: Linda Cameron [TSY] Sent: Monday, 24 June 2019 11:39 AM To: 'Regulatory Impact Statement' Cc: s9(2)(g)(ii) RIA Team [TSY] Subject: RE: South Eastern Marine Protection - initial meeting [IN-CONFIDENCE] Hi s9(2)(g)(ii) , I have had a discussion with s9(2)(g)(ii) , and agree with the approach proposed in the email below. It is good practise to prepare the interim RIA now alongside the discussion document (even though Ministers have indicated they won’t be going to Cabinet). This will enable you to see what additional information is required for the final RIA and will help to ensure that you gather the necessary information during the public consultation process. You need to submit a process confirmation form so I have a record in our system and can formally confirm the QA process for the discussion document and interim RIA. The process confirmation form is available on Treasury’s website at: https://treasury.govt.nz/information-and-services/regulation/impact-analysis-requirements-regulatory- proposals The form shouldn’t take long to fill in. Please note in the form that Ministers are going to proceed with consultation without going to Cabinet. The conclusion of the discussion was to complete a RIA alongside the discussion document on this. s9(2)(g)(ii) s9(2)(g)(ii) s9(2 has just contacted me about the latest developments in this area – s9(2)(g)(i) (g)(ii s9(2)(g)(i) s9(2)(g)(ii) My understanding is that and the team are in the process of confirming this with the Ministers, and making sure that they are aware of potential risks with this approach. s9(2)(g)(ii) has told me that he would like to continue with the QA process for this discussion document and RIA. Please feel free to contact me if you would like to discuss this further. 1 20200088 TOIA Binder Doc 1 Page 2 of 82 Thanks s9(2)(g)(ii) From: Linda Cameron [TSY] [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: Monday, 13 May 2019 5:27 PM To: Regulatory Impact Statement < s9(2)(g)(ii) @mpi.govt.nz> Cc: s9(2)(g)(ii) < s9(2)(g)(ii) @mpi.govt.nz>; s9(2)(g)(ii) @mpi.govt.nz> Subject: RE: South Eastern Marine Protection - initial meeting s Hi , s9(2)(g)(ii) I am available on Friday 17 May from 11am-12 and 2-4.30pm.
