UCBC inaugurates its 2015 Academic Year, 69 in May.

The Chilean British University held the ceremony to inaugurate its 2015 Academic Year at the National Library on 13 May; on the occasion, Michael Hall, Senior Lecturer at Britain’s University of St. Mark and St. John, gave a master lecture on “Student Exchanges”. In 2015, the University has given its support to di erent artistic expressions, thus 70 fulfilling its mission as a cultural bridge between the United Kingdom and Chile.

Bilingual Soccer School Tournament, 74 Municipality of Providencia.

In order to encourage the English language, sports and the values of healthy coexistence, the UCBC co-organised a soccer championship that was played during the second semester of 2015, with primary school students from Providencia Municipal Schools as competitors.

A student attended a breakfast for representatives of the Preschool Education Student Centre at the Presidential Palace, organised by the Socio Cultural Oce of the Presidency and Fundación Integra, with the objective of initiating the education reform. December 2015, Universidad Chileno-Británica de Cultura awarded 76 3-year accreditation by BAC.

On 26 November 2015, the British Accreditation Council (BAC) granted international accreditation for three years to the Universidad Chileno-Británica de Cultura (UCBC), the maximum period of time in the case of overseas centres. BAC is a member of the European Association for Quality Assurance in (ENQA).

This initiative jointly developed by the Research and the International Relations departments of our University involved the visit of Aston University Emeritus Professor Anne Burns, who is currently a teacher and researcher at the School of Education, New South Wales University, Australia.

For the sixth consecutive year the Universidad Chileno Británica de Cultura (UCBC) receives students from di erent British universities. Leah Grace, Rachael Stephenson and Alex McGeever from the University of Cambridge; Alexander Rees from the University of Oxford; and Charlotte Pearsall from the University of Aston arrived in March.

The UCBC and the British Commonwealth Society organized a viewing of War Horse, 82 April 2016.

More than 200 spectators from the British community, university authorities, teachers, students and graduates, gathered at the Teatro Nescafé de las Artes to watch the London National Theatre streamed version of the play War Horse, o ered by the British Commonwealth Society and the Universidad Chileno-Británica de Cultura (UCBC).

She also visited the London School of Economics (LSE), where she had a meeting with the language coordinator. Moya also had a meeting with Dr. Diana Berruezo-Sánchez, representative of the Faculty of Medieval Languages, at the University of Oxford.

Former Minister of Transport and Telecommunications, Pedro Pablo Errázuriz, lectured on the importance of smart cities and the contribution of technologies. The meeting was organized by the UCBC, the Kennedy Foundation and the Chilean-British Chamber of Commerce (Britcham). September 2016, the UCBC had an active 94 participation at the FAN Chile week.

Former President of the Republic, Ricardo Lagos Escobar, received recognition from the Earl of Wessex for the creation of the programme Inglés Abre Puertas, the first-ever English policy of state. Curiously enough, this policy was announced in 2003 by the then Minister of Education, Sergio Bitar, in the very same room of the UCBC.

October 2016, UCBC celebrates 99 International Translation Day.

The UCBC celebrated the International Translation Day at the National Library.
