I am proud to be part of the Future of Flight Foundation and its mission

“We inspire lifelong learning and innovation in science, technology, engineering and math through engaging exhibits and programs.”

Our community counts on us to create a quality visitor experience. To this end, in 2014 our board, staff and volunteers will be working together to develop a new strategic plan, which will include a master plan for the gallery and a philanthropic plan to raise the required funds to achieve the desired results.

1 Board of Directors Letter Photo credit: Future of Flight

On behalf of our Board of Directors, staff, and volunteers we thank you for your interest and support. Our theme is Transform, Inspire, and Lead.

Future of Flight Foundation is an independent 501(c)(3) non- profit that serves as the operator of the Future of Flight Aviation Center & Boeing Tour facility, which is owned by Snohomish County.

The Future of Flight Aviation Center & Boeing Tour debuted in fall 2005 as a unique aviation interpretive center and the home of the tour of the Boeing Everett, WA assembly plant.

2013 was a transformational year for the Future of Flight Foundation.

Our accomplishments:

• Our Board of Directors worked closely with our partners (Snohomish County and the Boeing Company) signing a ten (10) year operations agreement.

• The Future of Flight achieved a new milestone, increasing attendance by 100% since 2006, the first full year after opening, for an all time high of 248,273 paid tour visitors in 2013.

• We held two fundraisers, which helped raise the visibility of our organization and mission and our philanthropic commitment of supporting STEM education.

• Our founding Executive Director Barry Smith retired and was honored during our Gala by naming an education program “The Barry Smith Flights of Innovation Program.”

• Our Board of Directors engaged the executive search firm Herd Freed and Hartz to search for a new Executive Director. We are proud to announce Bonnie Hilory as our Executive Director. She started on February 17, 2014.

Our purpose is to strengthen and deepen the visitor experience and provide students with hands-on STEM related education programs. We are able to achieve this due to the generosity of our partners, sponsors, members and donors.
