"I see an overflow of mercy spilling out in our midst. Hearts have been tested. The crisis has called forth in some a new courage and compassion; others have come to the aid of those in need in concrete ways that can transform our neighbor's suffering." The Revolution of Tenderness is an expression the Pope has especially made popular, and when put in action, it's a combination of many virtues: humility, humanity, empathy, and, above all, genuine compassionate love. In honor of the prayers he asked for from his window during the Sunday Angelus, let's ask ourselves the questions he gives us: "when you help others, do you look them in the eye? Do you embrace them without being afraid to touch them? Think about this: how do you help? From a distance or with tenderness, with closeness?" Closeness, compassion, tenderness! Pandemic or not, our church is engaging charitable acts like visiting the sick, comforting the sorrowed, and giving aid to the needy in our own, little ways with the San Antonio de Padua chaplaincy. Simple, little ways make a lot of difference when it comes from the heart. Compassion and kindness play a great factor in healing, love, and peace. Thus, there's no rich that has no needs, and no poor that cannot give. Packing relief goods for distribution to our brothers & sisters is a little help that makes them smile and dry their tears. Addressing the never ending problems of waste pollution is a formidable task. Nevertheless, we believe clean up drives should be done regularly, and our constituents need to be encouraged to participate.

Interspersed with tree planting activities, we make cleaning the environment an engaging habit which in turn encourages outdoor exercise. We all know that Papa Francis advocates we plant trees, and we're so thankful that this June, a group brought 100 seedlings to our Church, and planted amongst the premises and in the riverbanks. It's indeed a great help to our community in restoring fresh air, helping to preserve our mother nature. The "Elisabeth Sanna Woman Empowerment" center has existed in Madurai since 2002; a project started by Fr.
