#AllThatIsGood Campaign

We Are A Mission's #AllThatIsGood campaign was launched at the height of Italy's coronavirus outbreak, so to be a bearer of the promises of hope in light of Covid-19. Our goodness today changes humanity's tomorrow.

As Pope Francis says, "The balm of holiness generated by the good lives of so many people can heal the wounds of the world."

#Pallottines WE ARE A MISSION MESSAGE FROM THE RECTOR GENERAL

“May God put an end to this tragedy – this pandemic – and have mercy on us. And may He put an end to the other terrible pandemics of hunger, war, and uneducated children." (Pope Francis, morning homily during Rome's quarantine)

These truths of the Holy Father remind us how great is the poverty of indifference; and that the grace of healing must extend beyond what the immediate eye can see, and perhaps what it has even been accustomed to. Hence in this time of the Coronavirus, while remembering and praying for all the victims, we also remember the poor of all the world; who go to bed on an empty stomach, and sleep with the sky as their roof.

There have been outstanding charitable and merciful works in the Pallottine world, and this magazine is an opportunity to recognize and thank all of those involved in these marvelous acts of charity. As Pope Francis says, "if you want to know what you actually have to do, read Matthew 25." This is the paradox of Christian life; the last judgement is purely based on fraternal charity. Therefore, there's an importance- and an ultimatum- in going beyond theory; the important thing is to get involved in concrete deeds. Service is the action of love.

We Are A Mission's #AllThatIsGood campaign shares the stories of Pallottines as bearers of the promises of hope, showing that through holiness and gratuitousness, humanity is not determined by Covid-19, but Covid-19 is determined by humanity.

I thank each and every one of you. Please continue sending your contributions, so we can encourage the world to do good! Fr. Jacob Nampudakam SAC CONTENTS ALL THAT IS GOOD

His campaign, which started at Pallotti's St. Anthony of Padua Parish, has ignited the flame of apostolic zeal and faith across all streets! "Let us be certain that one who truly loves Mary, will not only be saved, but- through Her intercession- will also increase in holiness day by day, until he becomes a great saint!" (St. Vincent Pallotti)

"Worldwide Rosary (WW Rosary)," writes Andrew Yuen, "is a Catholic initiative starting in Hong Kong with Fr. Rémy Kurowski, Fr. David Tristrianto, Elisabeth Passant-Joly, and myself," as a means of transcending social distancing through the Spirit of prayer. Across 6 continents, all vocations of the faithful have been cloaked in Mary's Mantle, reciting the Rosary in their native tongue; from French, to Polish, to Swahili.

Fr. Remy, our Pallottine missionary in Hong Kong, writes, "in the Christian faith, we distinguish between three manners of being Christians: to believe, to live and to celebrate. They form a tripod, a ground, a foundation upon which we try to exist. Worldwide-Rosary is a specific manifestation, among many, to show that we are the living Body of Christ. Within this manifestation, we show that while everybody is confined in his own place, by joining in prayers together, we are transcending the distance the separates us as well as the cultural particularities that differentiate us. We are experiencing this spiritual gathering as pilgrims going to Rome or to the Holy Land, journeying from one sanctuary to another.

Worldwide-Rosary is something similar, but much more. We are connecting faithful living apart allowing them to see each other on the screen of our laptop or mobile phone. We are united by faith in this space of virtual reality. We are breaking down walls while using the bricks to build bridges.

What is the true vocation of this initiative of Worldwide-Rosary? The domestic churches formed by the communion of prayers, come together like roses to be offered to the living God, through the intercession of Our Lady. He looks upon us as His own people, as body of His own son, Jesus Christ, our Saviour and our Master.

Worldwide-Rosary is the basket for holding these roses to be sent up to God.We are not alone! We are a part of God’s plan to live, and to live together in harmony. Burkina Faso, Rwanda, Ivory Coast, Cameroon S A L V A T T I F O U N D A T I O N Poland's Christ the King Province

Fr. Zdzisław Prusaczyk, who works in Kibeho, Rwanda- where the apparitions of Our Lady took place- explains that "the situation is critical. We help the poorest as much as we can, providing them with food, flour, rice, corn and beans. But now, it's not only the poorest who are in need, but even those who had used to manage somehow."

"Help one another. This is what Jesus teaches us. This is what I do, and I do it with all my heart." (Pope Francis)

And as Pallotti desired to be all things for all the suffering from his Roman abode, so has it been fulfilled a hundredfold from Heaven's window.

To his spiritual children in the Ivory Coast, masks were given through Poland's Pallottine Adoption of the Heart Program; a spiritual and financial medium which gives children in Rwanda, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Ivory Coast, Cameroon, Zambia, and Colombia life's basic necessities, to which God demands all are endowed. Yet as the world's logic and injustices are so contrary to the Lord's, it takes these initiatives of goodwill to recall to mind the responsibilities we have as baptized souls of the mystical body of Christ.

Love is everything. Catechesis (Vatican Translation)

On the Roman morning of September Dear Brothers and Sisters, good morning! 9th, under the City's eternal, deep blue The crisis we are living due to the skies, We Are A Mission attended Pope pandemic is affecting everyone; we will Francis' General Audience. When he saw emerge from it for the better if we all the crowd, he blessed us; when he seek the common good together; the looked into our eyes, he spoke to us; contrary is we will emerge for the worse. when he saw our small possessions, he Unfortunately, we see partisan interests knew us. As the words of St. Thomas emerging. For example, some would like Aquinas say, "to one who has faith, no to appropriate possible solutions for explanation is necessary. To one without themselves, as in the case of vaccines, to faith, no explanation is possible." then sell them to others. Some are taking The Christian response to the pandemic and to the consequent socio-economic crisis is based on love, above all, love of God who always precedes us (see 1 Jn 4:19). He loves us first, He always precedes us in love and in solutions. He loves us unconditionally and when we welcome this divine love, then we can respond similarly. I love not only those who love me – my family, my friends, my group – but I also love those who do not love me, I also love those who do not know me or who are strangers, and even those who make me suffer or whom I consider enemies (see Mt 5:44). This is Christian wisdom, this is how Jesus acted. And the highest point of holiness, let’s put it that way, is to love one’s enemies which is not easy, it is not easy. Certainly, to love everyone, including enemies, is difficult – I would say it is even an art! But an art that can be learned and improved. True love that makes us fruitful and free is always expansive, and true love is not only expansive, it is inclusive. This love cares, heals and does good. How many times a caress does more good than many arguments, a caress, we can think, of pardon instead of many arguments to defend oneself. It is inclusive love that heals.

So, love is not limited to the relationship between two or three people, or to friends or to family, it goes beyond. It comprises civil and political relationships (see Catechism of the [CCC], 1907-1912), including a relationship with nature (see Encyclical Laudato Si’ [LS], 231). Love is inclusive, everything. Since we are social and political beings, one of the highest expressions of love is specifically social and political which is decisive to human development and in order to face any type of crisis (ibid., 231). We know that love makes families and friendships flourish; but it is good to remember that it also makes social, cultural, economic and political relationships flourish, allowing us to construct a “civilisation of love”, as Saint Paul VI used to love to say[1] and, in turn, Saint John Paul II. Without this inspiration the egotistical, indifferent, throw-away culture prevails – that is to discard anything I do not like, whom I cannot love or those who seem to me to not to be useful in society. Today at the entrance, a married couple said to us: “Pray for me (us) because we have a disabled son.” I asked: “How old is he?” “He is pretty old.” “And what do you do?” “We accompany him, help him.” All of their lives as parents for that disabled son. This is love. And the enemies, the adversarial politicians, according to our opinion, seem to be “disabled” politicians, socially, but they seem to be that way. Only God knows if they are truly thus or not. But we must love them, we must dialogue, we must build this civilisation of love, this political and social civilisation of the unity of all humanity. Otherwise, wars, divisions, envy, even wars in families: because inclusive love is social, it is familial, it is political…love pervades everything.

The coronavirus is showing us that each person’s true good is a common good, not only individual, and, vice versa, the common good is a true good for the person. (see CCC, 1905- 1906). If a person only seeks his or her own good, that person is egotistical. Instead, the person is kinder, nobler, when his or her own good is open to everyone, when it is shared. Health, in addition to being an individual good, is also a public good. A healthy society is one that takes care of everyone’s health, of all.

A virus that does not recognise barriers, borders, or cultural or political distinctions must be faced with a love without barriers, borders or distinctions. This love can generate social structures that encourage us to share rather than to compete, that allow us to include the most vulnerable and not to cast them aside, that help us to express the best in our human nature and not the worst. True love does not know the throw-away culture, it does not know what it is. In fact, when we love and generate creativity, when we generate trust and solidarity, it is then that concrete initiatives emerge for the common good.[2] And this is valid at both the level of the smallest and largest communities, as well as at the international level. What is done in the family, what is done in the neighbourhood, what is done in the village, what is done in the large cities and internationally is the same, it is the same seed that grows, grows, grows and bears fruit. If you in your family, in your neighbourhood start out with envy, with battles, there will be war in the end. Instead, if you start out with love, to share love, forgiveness, there will be love and forgiveness for everyone.

Conversely, if the solutions for the pandemic bear the imprint of egoism, whether it be by persons, businesses or nations, we may perhaps emerge from the coronavirus crisis, but certainly not from the human and social crisis that the virus has brought to light and accentuated. Therefore, be careful not to build on sand (see Mt 7:21-27)! To build a healthy, inclusive, just and peaceful society we must do so on the rock of the common good.[3] The common good is a rock. And this is everyone’s task, not only that of a few specialists. Saint Thomas Aquinas used to say that the promotion of the common good is a duty of justice that falls on each citizen. Every citizen is responsible for the common good. And for Christians, it is also a mission. As Saint Ignatius of Loyola taught, to direct our daily efforts toward the common good is a way of receiving and spreading God’s glory. Unfortunately, politics does not often have a good reputation, and we know why. This is not to say that all politicians are bad, no, I do not want to say this. I am only saying that unfortunately, politics do not often have a good reputation. Why? But it does not have to resign itself to this negative vision, but instead react to it by showing in deeds that good politics is possible, or rather that politics[4] that puts the human person and the common good at the center is a duty. If you read history of humanity you will find many holy politicians who trod this path. It is possible insofar as every citizen, and especially those who assume social and political commitments and positions, roots what they do in ethical principles and nurtures it with social and political love. Christians, in a particular way the laity, are called to give good example of this and can do it thanks to the virtue of charity, cultivating its intrinsic social dimension.

It is therefore time to improve our social love – I want to highlight this: our social love – with everyone’s contribution, starting from our littleness. The common good requires everyone’s participation. If everyone contributes his or her part, and if no one is left out, we can regenerate good relationships on the communitarian, national and international level and even in harmony with the environment (see LS, 236). Thus, through our gestures, even the most humble ones, something of the image of God we bear within us will be made visible, because God is the Trinity, God is love, God is love. This is the most beautiful definition of God that is in the Bible. The Apostle John, who loved Jesus so much, gives it to us. With His help, we can heal the world working, yes, all together for the common good, for everyone’s common good. Thank you.

“In the days from Sunday to Saturday, May 17th to the 23rd, Fr. Tomasz P. Kazansky SAC shepherded his team through a Lectio Divina retreat. It wasn’t the first of its kind, but it was the first time it was held in its new form, as it took place in each’s own home due to the Pandemic.

However, this only confirmed the words of St. Paul the Apostle, who said “the word of God is not bound" (2 Timothy 2.9). These spiritual exercises, previously scheduled at a quiet spiritual center Vranovwas, were transformed to the Holy Spirit to be online; and as it be so, the number was much bigger, and the retreat crossed borders! Participants were from the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Poland, Austria, Hungary, and Ukraine, and represented all walks of vocational, and ecumenical, life. There were Religious Fathers, Brothers, Sisters, and Lay People, as well as various Christian denominations.

The retreat’s theme was "meeting of the Risen Lord to his disciples." Every day at 9:00 and 14:00, it was possible to visit its YouTube channel to hear introductions, the meditation, the oratio, and the contemplation. Participants also had the opportunity of daily spiritual conversations, either by phone or through various communicators. This opportunity was used by over 40 people. The team that accompanied these spiritual talks were the Franciscan Sisters of the Holy Family, as well as Oblate, Vincentian, and Salvatorian Fathers, as well as 4 Pallottine Fathers from the Czech Republic, Slovakia, and Italy.

We witnessed that the first online exercises of the Lectio Divina retreated aroused in many a love of God’s word, and will be an inspiration for living everyday life in the spirit of the materials that are publicly available on Youtube Lectio Divina CZ, so that they can also help others who need it. Silence and rest near the word of God; and we thank Him even in this time of the pandemic, because the numbers of disciples who listen to the Word of the Lord grows."

And as St. John Paul II likewise says, "the family is called to be the temple, or house of prayer; simple prayer, full of effort and tenderness. A prayer that makes life so that life becomes prayer."

So also the reason St. Mother Teresa teaches us that to change the world, we must first go home and love our family. Herein holds the divine communion honored throughout Brazil's Churches during family week, held every year in the week of August. Founded in 1922, it's organized by the National Conference of the Bishops of Brazil(CNBB), and this 2020's theme was taken from Joshua; "as for me and my household, we will serve the Lord" (24:15).

A service called to hold steadfast through uncertainty, exemplified no greater time than now, during the Covid-19 Pandemic. Our own Pallottine families- from the Amazon to metropolis areas- are testimonies to this courageous creativity of opening their windows in transcendence towards God. Let there be kindness in your face, in your eyes, in your smile, in the warmth of your greeting. Always have a cheerful smile. Don't only give your care, but give your heart as well."

For service gives life to love, and this is the Gospel mission. To see this truth of faith in action, we travel to the flesh of Medellin, Colombia; where at the Parish of Santa Mariana de Jesus, Christ is alive in all vocations of His Mystical Body.

Parish groups, youth, and the National Police helped prepare more than 140 aid packages to their neighbors in need, as Colombia's quarantine has been extended until August 30. Last weekend was also a time of "Total Care"- a decree in effect by Medellín's mayor Daniel Quintero- to curb a steady uptick in cases, whereby all shops are closed Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.

We all need each other; and "in their daily perseverance we see the holiness of the Church militant. Very often it is a holiness found in our next-door neighbors, those who, living in our midst, reflect God’s presence" (Pope Francis). O U R L A D Y O F M T . C A R M E L , A Y A C U C H O

To move mountains, Hold Fast to Him & Serve

Paradoxically we will find, in the growth of faith, that the further we go, the simpler we become. Upon the mountains of Peru, the Pallottine "messengers come, bringing good news" (cf Romans 10:15).

Atop the Carmel of Vilcashuamán, the Gospel in all its radicality; from the poor in Spirit, to the Jesus of the least exemplified through our Fathers. In these photos today, St. Vincent's missionaries carry care packages through the village, as the demands of life- already grueling in the periphery terrain- have made harder by the pandemic.

The mission of the Virgen del Carmine was renewed to participation in all its glory in 2014, when the Society opened the Tabernacles to the abandoned Churches 3400 meters above sea level. Indeed, "the higher we go, the greater we shall hear the voice of Christ!" (Bl. Pier Giorgio Frassati). United States C A T H O L I C A P O S T O L A T E C E N T E R

Submitted: Catholic Apostolate Center

The Catholic Apostolate Center, a ministry of the Immaculate Conception Province, has responded to the Coronavirus Pandemic by creating and compiling a multitude of content for active Catholics in English and Spanish; having spiritual resources available, and making the transition to a virtual world easier.

Our COVID-19 resource page has been updated almost daily to provide podcasts, webinars, links to live-streaming Masses, and content discussing how one can bring their faith into their own home during these difficult times. We also have a special prayer intention submission form, where these requests are remembered during the daily Mass in the St. Vincent Pallotti Chapel. In addition, the Center collaborated with the Archdiocese of Washington, the Archdiocese of New Orleans, the Diocese of Bridgeport, The Catholic University of America, and Villanova University to host webinars that address these issues. The topics of the webinars focused on accompaniment of those in our parishes and organizations; communication and remote work strategies; as well as pastoral care and evangelization.

The Center’s staff and collaborators wrote reflections in the form of blog posts focused on their daily lives and how they are adjusting to the “new normal” that COVID has brought. Center Director, Fr. Frank Donio, S.A.C., released weekly spiritual reflections to ensure that the Center was responding to the most current spiritual needs. Fr. Frank’s words each week inspired one’s utmost trust in the plans of God – to trust Him unconditionally. Center Project Coordinator, Brian Rhude, also created reflection videos and podcasts on how Catholics can best respond during this time of pandemic. As an enhancement of the Center’s Pray for Us series, the team created short videos highlighting holy men and women that Catholics can invoke during this time of pandemic. These saints, including St. Vincent Pallotti, are patron saints of pandemics, the plague, doctors, hospital administrators, people with leprosy, lost causes, cancer patients, and skin disease.

In the blink of an eye, when the world was engulfed by the pandemic, the Catholic Apostolate Center recognized its mission to supply spiritual resources for people in their homes. May the Charity of Christ urge us on! Canada

Pope Francis teaches that 3 "aspects of Jesus’ life can prove inspiring for all young people who are developing and preparing to take up their life mission. This involves growing in a relationship with the Father, in awareness of being part of a family and a people, and in openness to being filled with the Holy Spirit & led to carry out the mission God gives them, their vocation." What Jesus' youth teaches us, then, is that "we need projects that can strengthen the youth, accompany them and impel them to encounter others, to engage in generous service, in mission."

Families in particular are in a desperate situation. Pallottine Father Georges Roger Bidzogo writes from Durban, South Africa, how he tries to help a woman with six children who has been put out of her house on the street. The Pallottines stack food parcels in the church to distribute. Almost 2000 families are cared for in this way, and over 600 are still on the waiting list. It is also bad for the people that all of the informal street trade does not work, such as clothes sales, hairdressers or the food market. The government has promised to help disadvantaged families, but they still have to look elsewhere.

In Tamil Nadul, the second hardest hit state of India, the most pressing problem is hunger; and the Pallottines distribute rice and vegetables to families, to city, village and slum dwellers.
