afternoon and felt like oreillys guest turn on the tube and watch the news see hanna montana poses rebels and terrorists scatter the neighbors cat Gores too fat ive become mona lisas mustache a hyphen in popculture im no person just a consumer in a see of consumers consuming vanilla coke too much smoke need some vinyl rope while i pound out poetry on a computer and in a brawl gang for my sins I pilgrimage to ur with gilgamesh to ask forgiveness of the pope divine afterward i drink fruit flavored white tea and know theres no one left to turn to conrads a racist nietzsches depressed gibrans a muslim tzus too obscure my confession means nothing so i flip through time to waste time because anthologies are only writers greatest hits and now im slothrop chasing rainbows with dr phil and oprah who tell me that i should be a campbells can on a canvas look closer nothing to see so i seek for the start why its happening to me couric says the apocoplys is now and then my pen begins to gently     FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE MARCH 23, 2009 RIVER ROCK CASINO RESORT PRESENTS SHEENA EASTON LIVE AT THE RIVER ROCK SHOW THEATRE FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 25 Richmond, BC – Sheena Easton, whose career has spanned the last twenty-eight years, was born the youngest of six children in Bellshill, Scotland. She is best known for her music of the 80’s and 90’s … her hits include “Morning Train,” “You Could Have Been With Me,” “Almost Over You,” “Telefone (Long Distance Love Affair),” “Strut,” “Sugar Walls,” “Eternity,” “U Got The Look,” “Days Like This,” “The Lover In Me,” "What Comes Naturally" and her 1983 country duet with Kenny Rogers, “We’ve Got Tonight.” Several of Sheena’s hit singles have been used in such films as the James Bond movie, For Your Eyes Only in 1981 and About Last Night in 1986. She also wrote the lyrics for "The Arms Of Orion," a duet with Prince which appeared on the Batman soundtrack in 1989 and recorded "A Dream Worth Keeping" for FernGully: The Last Rainforest, an animated feature in 1992. Sheena has been honoured with several awards including two Grammys and has broken records with her album sales … her fifth album, A Private Heaven which was released in 1984 went platinum selling over one million copies. She has also enjoyed a successful acting career including a five-episode appearance as recording star “Caitlin Davies” on NBC’s Miami Vice along with guest starring roles on Highlander: The Series, Brisco County Jr. and The Outer Limits. As well, she starred in her own television special, Sheena Easton: Act One which aired on NBC in 1987 and made a cameo appearance in the 1993 feature film, Indecent Proposal where she performed the song, “The Nearness of You.” She also voiced the role of “Sasha La Fleur” in the 1996 animated feature, All Dogs Go To Heaven 2.

During the 14 lab sessions, we will encounter objects located in our own solar system, stars filling the Milky Way, and objects located much further away in the far reaches of space. Astronomy is an observational science, as opposed to most of the rest of physics, which is experimental in nature. Astronomers cannot create a star in the lab and study it, walk around it, change it, or explode it. Astronomers can only observe the sky as it is, and from their observations deduce models of the universe and its contents. They cannot ever repeat the same experiment twice with exactly the same parameters and conditions. Remember this as the universe is laid out before you in Astronomy 113 – the story always begins with only points of light in the sky. From this perspective, our understanding of the universe is truly one of the greatest intellectual challenges and achievements of mankind. The exploration of the universe is also a lot of fun, an experience that is largely missed sitting in a lecture hall or doing homework.

INTRODUCTION This topic was first introduced on the Planning Commission work program in 2004. This staff report introduces the concept of creating a rural outdoor lighting ordinance for the purpose of conserving the night skies. Outdoor lighting ordinances a re commonly referred to as ‘dark sky’ ordinances in the communities where they have been adopted in reference to a primary goal of such ordinances – to protect dark skies at night. Dark skies are one of the many qualities that set rural areas apart from u rban and suburban communities. Existing County land-use codes only require lighting standards in certain scenarios. The documentation in this report is based on the information contained in the included attachments. PART II. CREATION OF AN OUTDOOR LIGH TING ORDINANCE - WHY DO IT? Preservation of the Night Skies Growth and light pollution from excessive outdo or lighting is diminishing the view of the stars in and around urban areas, as well as within smaller towns and rural areas. While excessive light may cause a nuisance to others, it also wastes money and electricity, results in unnecessary emissions of greenhouse gases , and can have negative e ffects on humans and wildlife (see Attachment E). The “Dark Skies” concept promotes the precautionary appro ach to outdoor lighting design.
