Spawn: the Eternal Prelude Darkness
Spawn: The Eternal Prelude Darkness. Pain. What . oh. Oh god. I'm alive! CHOOSE. What? Oh great God almighty in Heaven . NOT QUITE. CHOOSE. Choose . choose what? What are you? Where am I? Am I in Hell? NOT YET. DO YOU WISH TO RETURN? Yes! Yes, of course I want to go back! But . what's the catch? What is all this? IT IS NONE OF YOUR CONCERN. WHAT WOULD YOU GIVE FOR A RETURN? TO SEE YOUR LOVED ONES, TO ONCE MORE TASTE LIFE? WHAT WOULD YOU GIVE? I . I'm dead, aren't I? YES. But . what can I give? I am dead, so I have nothing! NOT TRUE. YOU HAVE YOURSELF. Myself? I don't understand . is it my soul you want? NO. I ALREADY HOLD YOUR SOUL . I WISH TO KNOW IF YOU WOULD SERVE ME WILLINGLY IN RETURN FOR COMING BACK. Serve . to see my wife again . yes . to hold my children once more . yes. I will serve you. VERY WELL. THE DEAL IS DONE . In a rainy graveyard, something fell smoking to the ground. It sat up, shaking its head, looking around itself. Strange. Why was he lying here? He tried to stand up, surprising himself by leaping at least twenty feet into the air, landing as smoothly as a cat. How . then something caught his attention. He stared into the puddle of rainwater, trying to discern the vague shape that must be his own face. And then he screamed. Because what stared back was the burn-scarred skullface of a corpse, its eyes glowing a deep green. -

Fest, PhD University of Pittsburgh, 2013 This dissertation looks at global nuclear war as a trope that can be traced throughout twentieth century American literature. I argue that despite the non-event of nuclear exchange during the Cold War, the nuclear referent continues to shape American literary expression. Since the early 1990s the nuclear referent has dispersed into a multiplicity of disaster scenarios, producing a “second nuclear age.” If the atomic bomb once introduced the hypothesis “of a total and remainderless destruction of the archive,” today literature’s staged anticipation of catastrophe has become inseparable from the realities of global risk. -

The Wandering Caveman
TTHHEE MMYYSSTTEERRYY OOFF TTHHEE WWAANNDDEERRIINNGG CCAAVVEEMMAANN M. V. Carey 1 | P a g e Chapter 1 The Stranger in the Fog “ARE YOU ALL RIGHT ?” said a woman’s voice. Jupiter Jones stood still and listened. The afternoon was thick with fog. Fog muffled the noise of the traffic on the Pacific Coast Highway. It hung like a curtain between The Jones Salvage Yard and the houses across the street. It seemed to press in on Jupe. He felt cold and lonely, as if he were the only person in all the world. But someone had spoken, and now there were footsteps. Outside, just beyond the gates of the salvage yard, someone was walking. Then a man spoke, and two people appeared, moving like shadows in the grey light. The man was bent over, and as he walked his feet made slow, scuffling noises on the pavement. The woman was girlish and thin, with long, fair hair that hung straight about her face. “Here’s a bench,” she said, and she guided the man to a seat near the office. “You rest a minute. You should have let me drive. It was too much for you.” “Can I help?” Jupe moved closer to the pair. The man put a hand to his head and looked around in a dazed fashion. “We’re looking for . for . .” He caught at the young woman’s hand. “You do it,” he said. “Find out where we . where we . .” “Harbourview Lane,” said the young woman to Jupe. “We have to go to Harbour- view Lane.” “It’s down the highway and off Sunset,” said Jupe. -
Aliens on Earth. Are Reports of Close Encounters Correct?
Aliens on Earth. Are reports of close encounters correct? Pawel Sobkowicz pawelsobko@ gmail. com (Dated: April 1st, 2012) Popular culture (movies, SF literature) and witness accounts of close encounters with extrater- restrials provide a rather bizarre image of Aliens behavior on Earth. It is far from stereotypes of human space exploration. The reported Aliens are not missions of diplomats, scientists nor even invasion fleets; typical encounters are with lone ETs (or small groups), and involve curious behav- ior: abductions and experiments (often of sexual nature), cattle mutilations, localized killing and mixing in human society using various methods. Standard scientific explanations of these social memes point to influence of cultural artifacts (movies, literature) on social imagination, projection of our fears and observations of human society, and, in severe cases, psychic disorder of the involved individuals. In this work we propose an alternate explanation, claiming that the memes might be the result of observations of actual behavior of true Aliens, who, visiting Earth behave in a way that is then reproduced by such memes. The proposal would solve, in natural way, the Fermi paradox. I. EXISTENCE OF EXTRATERRESTRIAL based on increased ratio of planet detection based on mi- CIVILIZATIONS crolensing [9], puts this ratio at close to 1 (estimating number of planets as close to the number of stars in the A. Drake equation Galaxy). Applying this correction to Franck et al. esti- mates gives us much larger number of Earth-like planets The two major problems faced today by scientists in- – about 50 million. Discussing temporal aspects of the Drake equation, terested in extraterrestrial civilizations are: how many ´ such civilizations exist today or existed before in the Cirkovi´c[10], stresses the importance of the longevity Milky Way? The Secret History of Extraterrestrials: Advanced Technology And
The Secret History of Extraterrestrials “With our present knowledge of the cosmos, there is now a real possibility of evolved and intelligent civilizations elsewhere in the vast cosmological space. And possible visitations and even encounters can no longer be ignored. Naturally we must tread with caution and not jump to conclusions too easily and too readily; but we must also keep an open mind and respect those bold investigators who apply rigorous research and common sense to this fascinating although very debated hypothesis. Len Kasten is such an investigator, and his book The Secret History of Extraterrestrials is a must for the libraries of all seekers of truth with unbiased minds.” ROBERT BAUVAL, AUTHOR OF THE ORION MYSTERY , MESSAGE OF THE SPHINX, AND BLACK GENESIS “Len Kasten has provided an up-to-date survey of the vast array of issues that are now emerging into the public consciousness regarding an extraterrestrial presence engaging the human race. For those who want to jump right into the pool and not just sit on the side and dangle their feet, take the plunge with The Secret History of Extraterrestrials.” STEPHEN BASSETT, EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR OF PARADIGM RESEARCH GROUP “You can always count on Len Kasten to take you on a spellbinding galactic adventure, for he never fails to seek out ideas and theories that challenge your assumptions of what is true while firing your imagination. Whether in this dimension or another, be it past or future, your travels with Len Kasten will open your mind and introduce you to realities and experiences, you may have mistakenly assumed can exist only as fiction.” PAUL DAVIDS, DIRECTOR/PRODUCER OF JESUS IN INDIA AND EXECUTIVE PRODUCER/COWRITER OF ROSWELL: THE UFO COVERUP “This comprehensive book covers some of the most intriguing UFO and alien-contact cases ever reported. -
NCAS Presentation[9985]
NCAS Presentation September 8, 2018 January 8, 1969, was a red-letter day for the Air Force. That was the date that we took possession of the University of Colorado’s “Scientific Study of Unidentified Flying Objects.” The Condon Report, as it was popularly known, was the result of 18 months of intensive scientific inquiry into a phenomenon that plagued the Air Force for more than 20 years – UFOs or Flying Saucers. There I was at the Pentagon south parking loading dock with a hand truck to load 40 cartons containing 225 copies of the report. I headed straight for Bert Goodwin’s office on the Pentagon’s 4th floor. Goodwin was a civilian attorney responsible for protecting the Air Force’s legal interests regarding the Condon Report. It was just after 3 p.m. as I wheeled into Goodwin’s office. No one in the Air Force had seen the report as yet. Bert and I had one hour to review the 3-volume, 1465-page report. Forty- two copies were to be made available to the Pentagon press corps at 4 p.m., embargoed for simultaneous release in Washington and Boulder, Colorado, at noon EST the next day. Goodwin and I were the first Air Force officials to lay eyes on the report. The Air Force had been scrupulous, almost paranoid, about taking pains to avoid seeing the Condon Report until it was ready for public release. As we quickly skimmed the report, it became obvious that Dr. Condon hadn’t found evidence of any little green men. -
