In addition, the popular Singing Christmas Tree for KIDS will offer two shows on Saturday, December 13 at 11am and 3pm. As the first true Singing Christmas Tree production in the country, Carolina Voices is proud to bring this Charlotte tradition to the community each and every holiday season. Tickets are available online through ticketmaster.com and carolinatix.org. The Singing Christmas Tree was first produced in 1954 by Charlotte Choral Society (later renamed Carolina Voices) on the steps of the Harry and Bryant funeral home on Providence Road. With Alice Berman directing, the singers sang outdoors on the steps of the building lined up in the shape of a Tree. The performance was so popular, that the organization moved the production inside to Ovens Auditorium in 1955 and purchased a Tree structure for the singers. Today, the 32’ twinkling Tree structure holds 90+ volunteer singers of Carolina Voices’ MainStage Choir whose soaring voices will be directed by the organization’s Artistic Director, Peter Leo.

Reserve Saturday, December 7, 2019 and join us as we kick off the Christmas holidays with the celebrated Chattanooga Boys’ Choir 57th Annual Singing Christmas Tree Concert at the Tivoli Theater! We have center orchestra seats for the show. We’ll enjoy the noon matinee performance, followed by a late lunch downtown. The Chattanooga Boys Choir (CBC) was founded in 1954 and is the oldest boy choir in the southeastern United States. Started by local music teacher Caroline Brown as one choir of thirty boys, the organization now includes over 120 boys in five different ensembles from across the Chattanooga area and northwest Georgia. Members represent over thirty different public, private, and parochial schools and several home- schooled students. The Chattanooga Boys Choir has performed all across the United States and in nineteen different countries around the world including England, Australia, Mexico, and Germany. Most recently, the CBC has represented Chattanooga in performance tours around the world including the Czech Republic, Ireland, and Canada. It’s also hard to believe that on December 19, 2016, I will have been at Broadway for 4 years. It’s my understanding that makes me longest running manager at Broadway. J Managing a community isn’t for everyone and not every day is a walk in the park. Many days bring challenges and some days I have to make decisions that some people do not agree with me on. But I always strive to make the best decision possible for your association based on the governing documents and with good old fashioned common sense. In management, there can be no political agenda and all residents must be served fairly and with respect. My job here would not be the same without the awesome team of employees at Broadway Promenade. And a TEAM is exactly what we are.
