ブルガリは、2018年3月にロンドンのセルフリッジズ百貨店の新しい マルチブランドストア・エリアに出店します。100㎡の広さがあるブティ Many of the structural and decor elements ックは、コンドッティ通りのローマ本店と同じく地中海とローマを起源 of this space rework traditional Italian design とするルーツ、ブランドのカラーストーンに対する信念、そしてドラマ ティックな素材使いなど全ての要素を組み込んだ空間に仕上がって います。ローマを感じさせる雰囲気は、ブルガリの全てのブティックに 共 通する特 徴ともいえますが、このブティックもブルガリを訪 れる者 をローマの街に誘い、ピーター・マリノの美しく象徴的な内装が伝統 と革新を表現しています。また、1950~1960年代の黄金時代の歴史的 なイタリアン・デザインを彷彿とさせる装飾や建築素材が、ここにも 用いられており、建築家カルロ・スカルパやフランコ・アルビニらの建 築様式の美が表現されています。内装を彩る様々な素材の中でも特 に、ヴィストージ社によるムラーノガラスのシャンデリアの存在感が 際 立っています。シャンデリアの 留 め 金 は 全てハンドメイドです。ショ ーケースには高貴なサフランイエローのシルクシャンタンが張られ、 ブルガリを愛してきた多くのセレブリティ達をローマの歴史的本店へ と誘うのです。グラデーション仕上げを施したイタリア産の寄せ木細 工のウォルナットの床には明かりが優しく落ち、まるで陽の光が反射 しているかのようです。非常に重要なクライアント専用のまるで宝箱 のような部 屋はコンドッティ通りのローマ本 店にあり、かつてローマ の映画撮影所であるチネチッタの全盛期にエリザベス・テイラーが パパラッチの襲撃から逃れていた伝説の「テイラー・ルーム」の魅力 を再現しています。このスペースは、ローマの起源でありブルガリの 象徴のひとつである8ポイントスターをあしらい、パンテオンの床の 編み目模様の入ったパネルによりプライバシーが守られる心地良い 空間になっています。
