The Maratha scholars and historians had worked hard to construct the history of the land and people of Maharashtra. Among such scholars people like Kashinath Sane, Rajwade, Khare and Parasnis were well known luminaries in this field of history writing of Maratha. Kashinath Sane published a mass of original material like Bakhars, Sanads, letters and other state papers in his journal Kavyetihas Samgraha for more eleven years during the nineteenth century. The Water Story
The Water Story A workshop exploring the life of urban waters Workshop Conductors: Mr Ajay Nayak, Mr Vikram Pawar and Ms Kimaya Keluskar Intent: The Water Environs team has been exploring Mumbai's rivers ...yes surprise! surprise! There are four rivers that run through this megapolis. Over the last seven years what started as an investigative walk along the Dahisar river became a peoples' movement called River March. Over the last four years it has become a walk of more than a lakh Mumbaikars who believe in turning these backyards into front yards of the city. Today the Water Environs team realises that the "Water Story" is not just about technical harvesting of the resource but dependant on the social and cultural viewpoint of its user. Supported by INHAF (India Habitat Forum) and EdEn ( Educated Environments) it is working on developing awareness and advocacy for the case of Urban Rivers and the place of biodiversity in their environments. "The Water Story" as a workshop aims to take the participants on a macro view of the state of urban water ways and then zoom into location of their immediate neighbourhood, to search for this important resource over which the future wars might explode. The workshop will adopt the guise of a urban walks, group discussions and a design charrette to allow the participants a perspective and take away on potential solutions to the water problem through a tectonic lens of an architect /planner without ignoring the reality of the lives in, on and around the rivers. Workshop conducted at Pillai's College of Architecture from 19th June, 2018 to 22nd June, 2018 The Kalundre river, tributary of river Ghadi runs adjoining the campus of Pillai college of Architecture.

The district is bounded on the west by Arabian sea, Thane district lies to the north, Pune district to the east, Ratnagiri district to the south while Satara district shares a boundary in south-east. Raigad district forms an important part of the traditional Konkan region.

Project Name: M/s. Privi Organics Limited, Unit-II Privi Organics Limited, Unit-II was promoted by Mr. D. B. Rao (Executive Director) and Mr. Mahesh.P.Babani (Managing Director). The manufacturing facility was commissioned in 1999 and commercial production commenced in same year. During the time of establishment of the unit, Environmental Clearance was not pre requisite. Later Project proponent obtained EC Dated on 2/11/2011 (EC No. : SEAC 2010/CR.824/TC-2) for Expansion of products. Consent to Establish (CTE) and Consent to operate (CTO) was obtained from Maharashtra Pollution Control Board (MPCB) and the plant is in operation. The proposed project is for Proposed Expansion & Addition of Aroma Chemical Manufacturing Capacity in Unit-II. The Consent to Establish obtained vide consent order No. BO/RO Raigad/PCI-I/EIC-421- 06/E/CC-243 dated 19/10/2006. Similarly Consent to Operate was issued by MPCB vide Consent No. Formate 1.0/BO/CAC-Cell/EIC.No.-RD-2586-13/5 th CAC-5854 dated 20/06/2014 and is valid upto 28/02/2017 and Consent to Operate was amended by MPCB Vide Consent no.: MPCB/CAC-cell/Amend/CAC-17. The application for Environmental Clearance was made to SEAC/SEIAA Maharashtra and additional ToR was issued during 80th SEAC-I meeting, Maharashtra held during 30th-31st May 2014. Public Hearing was conducted by MPCB on 16/09/2014 and final EIA report has been prepared.
