CCA CANDIDATE ENDORSEMENTS

IMPORTANT TO DTLA COUNCIL DISTRICT 10 Mark Ridley-Thomas is the current LA County Supervisor for COUNCIL DISTRICT 14 District 2 and will be termed out at the end of 2020. LA County Sheriff Civilian Oversight Commission Ordinance

Placed on the ballot by citizen initiative, Measure R would increase oversight power of the LA County Sheriff Civilian Oversight Commission in two ways:

1) research and draft a Comprehensive Public Safety Reinvestment Plan and Feasibility Study to reduce LA County’s jail population.

2) when appropriate, conduct investigations of existing staff with or without the use of the Office of Inspector General, and grant the Commission the power to subpoena witnesses and documents.
