Driving Directions Location : The John James Audubon Center at Mill Grove (JJAC) is located at 1201 Pawlings Road in Audubon, PA . JJAC lies approximately 6 miles west of Norristown, 5 miles north of Valley Forge exit #326 (old exit #24) on the Pennsylvania Turnpike (King of Prussia), 18 miles east of Pottstown, 24 miles west of Philadelphia, and 12 miles south of the Lansdale area. The entrance to JJAC is situated at the junction of Audubon and Pawlings Roads in the village of Audubon, Pennsylvania. From Philadelphia, the Schuylkill Expressway (Interstate 76): At King of Prussia, take exit for Route 422 Bypass west (Pottstown). Follow directions below for Route 422 Bypass Going West From the Pennsylvania Turnpike: Take Route 202 south to Route 422 Bypass west (Pottstown). Follow directions below for Route 422 Bypass Going West. From Route 202 North and South: Take exit for Route 422 Bypass west. Follow directions below for Route 422 Bypass Going West. From Route 422 Bypass Going West: Follow Route 422 west to the third exit (you will cross over the Schuylkill River Bridge before approaching the exit), which is marked Route 363 north – Audubon Trooper. While on the exit ramp, bear right but move into the left-hand traffic lane. Turn left at the first traffic light, which will place you on Audubon Road. Follow Audubon Road. At the second traffic light, you will cross Pawlings Road. After crossing Pawlings Road you are in JJAC’s entrance driveway. From Route 30: Go north on Route 202 to exit for Route 422 Bypass west (Pottstown). Follow directions above for Route 422 Bypass Going West. From Route 422 Bypass Going East: Take the Oaks/Audubon exit, turn right and proceed east on Egypt Road. Go approximately 1 ½ miles to the fourth traffic light and turn right onto Pawlings Road (a Cumberland Farms store is on the right hand side). Follow Pawlings Road to the first traffic light and make a right into JJAC’s entrance driveway. From Lansdale Area (North): Follow Route 363 (Valley Forge Road) south. Route 363 (Valley Forge Road) becomes Park Avenue after crossing Germantown Pike in Fairview Village. Continue following Park Avenue, crossing Ridge Pike. After crossing Egypt Road, Park Avenue becomes Pawlings Road. After crossing Egypt Road, turn right at first traffic light. You are now in JJAC’s entrance driveway. From Wyncote, Oreland, Fort Washington, Ambler Area: Take Skippack Pike (Route 73) west to the intersection with Route 363 (Valley Forge Road). Turn left and proceed south on Route 363. Follow directions above for Lansdale Area (North). .

Transportation Plan
CHAPTER EIGHT Transportation Plan Broadly defined, the transportation plan is a plan for the movement of people and goods throughout the township. More specifically, it documents township roadway classifications and traffic volumes, while providing recommendations on mitigating congestion and safety problems. It also examines alternative transportation modes such as public transit and pedestrian and bicycle pathways. With the degree to which the recommendations contained in this chapter are implemented, it would not only allow for the continued efficient flow of people and goods, but will also help to maintain and enhance the quality of life currently enjoyed in the township. This chapter is comprised of three main sections: roadways, public transit, and pedestrian/bicycle path- ways. Each section contains its own specific set of recommendations. Roadways The township’s original comprehensive plan of 1965 presents a bold, optimistic outlook on the future of Whitemarsh’s road network. Traffic congestion would be eliminated through the construction of new roads and bridges; expressways are envisioned bisecting the township and a bridge would provide a direct connec- tion to the Schuylkill Expressway. Hazardous intersections would be eliminated through improvements and realignments. An ambitious document, it is a reflection of a time when the answer to current woes was new construction that was bigger and therefore better. While the merits of new expressways and wider roads are still a debatable point, for the township it is moot. Despite the fact that this plan contained many valid ideas, most of the new roadway opportunities have been lost through subsequent development and a greater appre- ciation for older structures makes road widenings difficult.

From the Great Recession of 2008, we have entered into a time of major construction and development. With this “New Boom”, demands for a better understanding of the technical and regulatory requirements of the Department have grown dramatically. These demands have occurred concurrently with an increasing need for enforcement of Federal, and State laws, as well as a series of laws and initiatives adopted by the City of Philadelphia. In addition to seeking to fulfill the obligations defined within the Philadelphia Home Rule Charter, and the Philadelphia Code, the Streets Department has recognized the need to ensure compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (1990), and the Underground Utility Line Protection Act, PA Act 287 (1974, and as revised), all within a framework defined greatly by Philadelphia Code §11-900 (Complete Streets). The purpose of these Right of Way Improvement Standards is to gather the standard requirements of the Streets Department into a single source. Much of the content of this publication derive from established Streets Department resources, as well as standards established, or influenced, by our sister departments, and partners with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and the U.S. Government. As a living document, this Standard is subject to periodic revision, as the needs of this great City continue to grow, and new practices and technologies within our street network become available.

January 2019 PA Turnpike TOLL BY PLATE HOW IT WORKS FOR CUSTOMERS WITHOUT E-ZPASS As part of its cashless tolling program, the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission (PTC) has established PA Turnpike TOLL BY PLATE. The TOLL BY PLATE program is a license plate tolling system. Customers without E-ZPass will pass through existing toll facilities at the posted speed. 1 Cameras will capture a photo of the license plate and the registered owner of the vehicle will receive a toll invoice in the mail. E-ZPass customers will experience no change to how their tolls are assessed. A current list of Delaware River Bridge Beaver Valley Expressway cashless tolling points is on our website at www.nocashzone.com. Proceed through the tolling facility at posted speed. Customers may opt to open an account for their vehicle under the TOLL BY PLATE program for the convenience of viewing transactions online prior to receiving an invoice by mail.
