PRESS RELEASE Safran appointments June 28, 2021 Two appointments to Safran's Executive Committee Effective July 1, 2021, Stéphane Cueille is named CEO of Safran Electrical & Power. He takes over from Alain Sauret, who is retiring. Olivier Andriès, CEO of Safran, said, “I would like to sincerely thank Alain Sauret, who joined the Group almost 40 years ago at our legacy company, Labinal. He went on to transform the company into a world-class center of electrical system excellence. Safran Electrical & Power is today a cornerstone of our decarbonized aviation roadmap.” Holding the rank of Ingénieur de l’Armement (defense scientist), Stéphane Cueille was seconded to Snecma1 from 1998 to 2001 to work on ceramic matrix composites (CMC). He returned to the French defense procurement agency DGA in 2001, taking various management positions in the aircraft propulsion sector. In 2005 he was placed in charge of the Missiles-Space unit in the industrial affairs department (S2IE). In 2008, he returned to Snecma, starting in the turbine blade quality department at the Gennevilliers plant. The New Commercial Spaceports
The New Commercial Spaceports Derek Webber1 Spaceport Associates, Rockville, Maryland 20852,USA During the second half of the 20th Century, the first launch sites were established, mostly during the ‘fifties and ‘sixties. They were originally a product of the cold war and served military and civil government purposes. They were used for launching sounding rockets, space probes, for missile testing and injecting military, scientific, and eventually commercial satellites into orbit. Initially the sites were in either the USA or the former Soviet Union, but gradually they were introduced in other countries too. Governmental astronaut crews were also sent into orbit from these early launch sites. As the 21st Century begins, a new era is emerging where a fuller range of commercial missions will be undertaken and moreover where public space travel will become common place. This situation ushers in a new kind of launch facility, known as the commercial spaceport. I. Introduction here will be vastly different requirements for the future public space travelers, and their families and friends, T than are normally available at the traditional launch sites built fifty years ago. Indeed, the creation of this emerging kind of facility, the commercial spaceport, is in some ways a very necessary part of the creation of the new space businesses that the twenty-first century offers. It will be essential that, while the space tourism companies are becoming established in order to provide services to the new public space travelers, suitable ground based facilities will be developed in parallel to sustain and support these operations. This paper provides an insight into these commercial spaceport facilities, and their characteristics, in order to assist in both design and business planning processes. -

It is the largest French overseas department (16% of the territory of mainland R France), equivalent to the surface area of Portugal. The first traces of settlement in the Amazon date back to around 6,000 B.C. The Europeans discovered French Guiana in 1500 and the French settled there in 1643; it was populated by Amerindians at the time. Slavery, which was introduced in the second half of the 17th century, was abolished in 1848. The first penal colony T th opened at the end of the 18 century for enemies of the Revolution. Prisoner deportation really began under Napoleon III from 1852 onwards, to make up for manpower needs following the emancipation of over two- thirds of the population in 1848. Several penal colonies were built, the main ones were in Cayenne, on the R Salvation Islands and in Saint-Laurent-du-Maroni.
