Notes that EU animal welfare legislation is currently not applicable to marine invertebrates, while several third countries have included these animals in their animal welfare legislation; calls on the Commission and the Member States to take steps to improve the welfare of marine invertebrates, such as crabs and lobsters, by including these animals in their animal welfare legislation and by banning the practice of boiling these animals alive;
