This was after Owen’s existing partners began to object to his visionary methods. Their refusal to allow construction of the Institution prompted Owen to resign as manager of the mill and surreptitiously set about organizing a new partnership. A New View of Society was privately circulated in 1813 as a prospectus for New Lanark.
