The last straw was that his youngest daughter Jennifer gets into trouble in a club owned by a gang called 100, and he is forced to use his powers to save her. Peter Gooby, his mentor and friend, encourages him to become the Black Lightning again, but Jefferson refuses to break the promise he made to his ex-wife Lynn, giving up heroism in the hope of coming to terms with her. 100 bandits named Will and his friends kidnap Jennifer and Anisa, despite the agreement between Jefferson and the gang. Lynn temporarily releases him from his promise to save his daughters. With the help of Gumby, he rescues girls out of 100 at the Seahorse Motel. However, he can't find boss Will Lalu. After being led to the head of 100, Tobias Keith, his two underlings Syonide and Joey Toledo, Lala is tasked with killing the Black Lightning. Anissa's injury activates her own strength, forcing her to break the sink in half. 22Lawanda: Book of HopeHoil Akylim Akylianwuari 23, 2018 (2018-01-23)T43.100021.94 However, he learns that 100 still employs prostitutes at the Seahorse Motel and that his daughters are being targeted as witnesses. Jefferson asks Gumby to help him find Lala by hacking into the police database. Anissa's friend offers her a therapist. Will escapes from custody, but will be captured and executed by Lala. Lawanda, a former Jefferson student, tries to free his daughter from the clutches of 100, and he promises to help her. Lowanda is killed when she confronts Lale at the Seahorse Motel. Accusing himself of her death, Jefferson throws aside his problems and prepares to go after 100. Lynn visits Gumby and asks him to convince his husband otherwise, but he refuses. Using information from Will's phone, Jefferson approaches and storms the hotel where Lala is hiding, brutally beating him shortly before police arrive to arrest him. Shopping, Anissa conquers the robber with his abilities. Using his connections with Deputy Chief zike Cayman after the Seahorse Motel was closed, Tobias gets access to Lala's cell and strangles him with only one hand. 33Lawanda: The Book of BurialMark TonderaiJan NashJanUary 30, 2018 (2018-01-30)T43.100032.21 After the death of Lawanda, Reverend Holt plans to organize a peace march in the light of 100 in criminal waves, much to the great dismay of Jefferson and Inspector Henderson. Anissa meets Grace Choi and experiments with her new abilities. Tobias talks to Lady Eva and instructs his henchmen to deal with the peace march in exchange for Lala's place in the ranks. Although the Black Lightning manages to stop the assailant, Tobias is nearby when Sionid shoots Reverend Holt. The bullet passes through Reverend Holt and hits Khalil, Jennifer's boyfriend. At the hospital, Jefferson sees mixed news about the views of Black Lightning from the world of marchers and Inspector Henderson. At the tailor shop, Gumby removes evidence that Tobias was responsible for the fact that the Reverend and Khalil were shot. Back at the hospital, Lynn assures Aniss that she will be there for her. Jefferson and Jennifer tell them that Reverend Holt is doing well, but Khalil won't walk again. As Jefferson hugs his family, he continues to see news of the Black Lightning as other peace marchers praise his heroic actions. 44Black SchultzPat CharlesFebruary 6, 2018 (2018-02-06)T43.100041.88 '4 One of Jefferson's students, Bernard, almost overdosed on a new street drug strength booster, Green Light. • Tony Isabella: Black Thought
Tony Isabella: Black Thought Tony Isabella wants you to know he’s ticked off. For years the industry veteran has championed positive portrayals of black heroes in the pages of comic books. In his Comic Buyer’s Guide column, “Tony’s Tips”, and on the internet he’s raged about the lack of ethnic diversity in comics publishing and the stereotypical treatment of minority characters. So it should come as no surprise that the seasoned writer has taken issue with events in the recently released Green Arrow #31. In his eyes, his most beloved creation -- Black Lightning -- was transformed into a cold-blooded murderer. Black Lightning/Jefferson Pierce sprang from Isabella’s imagination in 1977 to become the first African-American superhero at DC to get his own title. Gifted with electro-magnetic powers, along with a strong sense of community and Christian morality, Jefferson Pierce was designed to be an enduring symbol of justice. But over the years Isabella has watched his original character become distorted, even as he continually slipped on and off DC radar. Black Lightning’s debut series, written by Isabella, only made it to issue #11 before it fell prey to massive cutbacks in 1978. A string of guest appearances in other books such as Detective Comics and the Justice League followed before Black Lightning found a new home with The Outsiders, a street-level superhero team led by Batman, in the mid- 1980’s. After The Outsiders ended in 1988, Black Lightning was again downgraded to guest star status. It wasn’t until 1995 that Jefferson Pierce became a consistent player in the DC universe again.

054 TV’s 1955 Adventures of Superman Episode #54: The Talking Clue By Charles A. Wagner April 23, 1955 This episode gives the viewer a rare glimpse into Inspector Henderson’s personal life and provided Robert Shayne with his biggest role in the series. The story began at the police lineup. Inspector Henderson was giving the motley crew the third degree, attempting to pin a bank robbery on someone, preferably Muscles McGurk and Claude James. Clark was the number two man in the lineup. “What’s your name, buddy?” asked the inspector. “Which one?” replied Clark. “How many do you have?” “Several.” Clark finally admitted to be called Lou Chambers. Actually, Kent had just been filling in at the inspector’s request and he explained the talk about names was just something to say. Henderson’s son Ray was visiting police headquarters. The young adult and motherless lad had a hobby of collecting sounds and the inspector bet that Ray had about a million boxes full of recording tape, each a couple of inches long… and Ray’s recorder was running on the safe. In came Claude James, who was also in the lineup, with a police officer. Inspector Henderson unlocked the safe to retrieve some needed evidence. Next, Muscles McGurk was arrested, but he was out on bond before the news hit the Planet’s front page. To complicate matters, Lois and Jimmy had been sent to do a feature story on Ray’s sound collection and during the interview were interrupted by Muscles McGurk who bought a reel of tape from Ray for $100.00.
