In the News Aquinas High School By Terry Meredith, French teacher Tears were shed as the group of French lycéens (high school students) from St. Denis left after spending the month of February with Aquinas, Aiken (St. Mary Help of Christians) and Augusta Prep families. When les jeunes (the young people) arrive and meet their families, it takes several days to become aquainted. Then, a daily rhythm develops and the month zips by. When I announce to my students that the French kids leaving, my announcement is met with a chorus of : "Already? They just got here!" This exchange has spanned two decades. As we head into our third, I would like to extend a warm thank you to all the families who have taken the risk and opened their hearts and homes to the students from St. Denis International School in Loches, France. Our hospitality will be reciprocated this June when Terry Meredith and Andrea Adams accompany a group of 10 Aquinas students to France for a three week stay. They will be hosted by St. Denis. We are changing the world for the better, one family at a time!
