January 19-26: Events at the Williamsport Community Theatre 25 Or 6 To 4: The Music of & Friends (1/19)- 7:30 PM The powerful blend of loud and powerful brass instruments has fueled some of rocks best music. In 25 or 6 to 4 the Uptown Music Collective will harness this traditional rock sound to bring to the stage the music of legendary bands Chicago, and Blood Sweat and Tears, along with the funky music of Earth Wind and Fire, Tower of Power, and a special, soul- stirring tribute to the Queen of Soul, Aretha Franklin. Rod Carrington Live (1/24) Rodney Carrington is a multi-talented comedian, actor, singer and writer. Swan Lake (1/25) This full-scale production, set to the music of Pyotr Tchaikovsky and based on Russian folklore and German legend, follows a heroic young prince as he works to free the beautiful swan maiden from an evil spell. January 25-27: BTE presents John Graham, Magician & Mentalist John Graham is an amazing magician. John Graham is a hilarious comedian. However, it's his unique blending of the two that makes him a world class entertainer. His performances have been called "Almost like a conversation with the audience." January 25-27: Almost, Maine at the Community Theatre League On a cold, clearly, moonless night in the middle of winter, all is not quite what it seems in the remote, mythical town of Almost. As the northern lights hover in the star-filled sky, the residents find themselves falling in and out of love in unexpected and occasionally hilarious ways. Knees are bruised and hearts are broken, but they are healed and mended – almost - in this delightful midwinter night’s dream. Now-January 19: Corning Museum of Glass Events Now – Feb. 28: Glass Snowmen- Stay warm this winter making your own snowman from molten glass. Open to all ages, this experience allows you to work with hot glass up close with our professional glassblowers to create your unique glass snowman. And don’t miss our 6-foot snowman and snow woman, their 3-foot snow son, and their pet snow dog Pi-Rex, made by Hot Glass Demo glassmaker George Kennard and team. New this year, a daughter snow child has been added to the snow family. January 2300°: Finger Lakes Wine & Cider Tastings (1/17) At 2300° Fahrenheit, hot glass gets interesting—and so do things at The Corning Museum of Glass. Now-February 24: Surrealism Exhibit at the Milton Art Bank SURREALISM, an exhibit of European and American Surrealist works from private collections, will be on display as well as a Surrealist Kunstkabinnett filled with curiosities and antiques from around the world. Founded by Brice Brown and housed in a converted 19th century bank, Milton Art Bank (MAB) is an artist-run experiment and space for creative inquiry. Through exhibitions, performances, and other creative interventions, MAB encourages curious dialogue and engaged participation as a way for people to become active agents of positive change in their community. Now-March 24: Samek Art Museum Exhibits Women’s Work (Now-2/3) On exhibit in the Downtown Gallery, Women’s Work is an exhibition that reexamines the traditional power structures found in classical tales, and featuring contemporary illustrations from Antigonick, the first-year reading for Bucknell’s class of 2020. Along with questioning the values traditionally placed on women’s work, viewers will leave with a new understanding of what a book can be. Border Cantos | Sonic Border (1/18-3/24) This compelling collaboration between American photographer Richard Misrach and Mexican American artist and composer Guillermo Galindo, explores the complexities of the US-Mexico border through photography, sculpture, and sound, inviting viewers to bridge boundaries and initiate conversations. Now-April 1: Exhibits at the Ned Smith Center for Nature and Art Working Together Through Time: The Game Commission and Ned Smith, the Artist (1-16-19) Throughout his prolific career, Ned Smith created over 120 cover paintings for Pennsylvania Game News magazine. The Center’s current exhibit, Gone for the Day: Ned Smith and the Pennsylvania Game Commission celebrates the legendary partnership between Ned Smith and the PGC. This exhibit pairs Ned’s original works with their finished covers. Miniature to Monumental by Richard J. Summons (1/16-4/1) Summons creates fascinating works of art, both naturalistic and surrealistic in bronze, aluminum, stainless steel, gypsum cements, stoneware, porcelain, bonded metals and stone. His three-dimensional creations involve an ongoing theme called “Meadow Songs”; playful compositions of turtles, toads, koi, beetles, and crickets. www.NedSmithCenter.org Millersburg

January 16-26: Activities at the Bloomsburg Children’s Museum The Bloomsburg Children's Museum fosters a lifelong love of learning through interactive programs and exhibits that bring out the imagination in every child and the child in every visitor. Regular programming includes: Homeschool Hangouts, Exploring Club, History Club, Music Together classes, First Lego League, and Scout Programs. Special events include: Annual Science Fair Showcase (1/17) Students will be showcasing their scientific findings while competing for cash prizes. Awards will be announced at 7:30pm. The Fair features projects from all scientific disciplines from magnetism to food science and is free and open to the public. Culture Café: Brazil (1/19) Global Meets Local with storytelling, song, tastings, and crafts from cultures around the world. Special Needs Night (1/25) The museum is open just for families with special needs. Extra staff will be on hand to help you and your family get the most out of the museum’s exhibits and activities. January 16-26: Union County Library Events The Union County Libraries offer special and ongoing programs for adults and children. Programs this week include game nights; book clubs; movie nights; Baby, Toddler & Preschool Discover programs; Robotics for Kids; Zen Meditation workshops; ASL language classes, and arts & crafts workshops. Special activities include: Literary Adventures- Book to Film Screening (1/17) Watch Crazy Rich Asians followed by a film discussion. Tri-County Obedience Dog Club (1/17) In celebration of National Train Your Dog Month, join the Tri-County Obedience Dog Club (TCODC) at the library to watch a fun demonstration of dogs heeling, halting, weaving, sitting, and staying. Hear of canine rescues, service dogs, and trick dogs. Come celebrate the bond between humans and their canine companions. Now-Jan. 19: Skates, Sleds, Sleighs and Stockings: a Taber Winter Exhibit As Ol’ Man Winter blankets the landscape with a crystalline purity of snow; the Thomas T. Taber Museum of the Lycoming County Historical Society invites you to Skates, Sleds, Sleighs and Stockings: a Taber Winter Exhibit. The Historical Society will be displaying a selection of ice skates, children’s sleds, sleighs and Christmas stockings from the nineteenth and twentieth centuries. Priceless family stockings, vintage ice skates, painted sleds, and miniatures of skates, sleds, sleighs, and stockings are on loan from community members for the exhibit! The exhibit will take place in the Museum Community Room. January 19: BTE Theatre School Winter Workshops Bloomsburg Theatre Ensemble is proud to present year-round classes for all ages, including workshops in the winter.
