THE AUTHORITY: Packed Venues of Happy Fans!

If you've been a fan of live music for any length of time, chances are you've seen some of these guys performing with various bands in and around western New York. After paying lip service to an idea for nearly a decade, in late 2013 they got together to form a powerhouse 9-piece band to celebrate the music of one of the most prolific and popular bands of all time: Chicago.

“The memories come flooding back when you guys play. It's magic!”

The Chicago Authority (TheChicagoAuthority.com) is proving to be a very popular ensemble. With just a handful of performances under its belt the band is already playing to sold-out shows, and on July 15th the guys look forward to performing a FREE concert at Tonawanda's Gateway Harbor! The Gateway Canal Series is hugely popular not only for the music but also for the food and, of course, the beverages!

“Just an awesome display of musical talent performing the music of Chicago!”

During their two-hour show the band will perform plenty of Chicago's hit songs including , Make Me Smile, Saturday in the Park, , and Colour My World, plus selected album cuts such as Introduction and Brand New Love Affair.

“If I had to pick a band that epitomized the vibe and attitude of our town, it would be The Chicago Authority”

Saxophonist Jack Prybylski: “All the garage bands we formed back in high school had horn sections, and 90% of the material we played consisted of Chicago songs. I'm extremely excited to be performing this music once again.” Percussionist Eladio Rodriguez: “I jumped at the chance to join this band because not only did I love the cool, sweet, intricate music of Chicago, I get to play great music with very talented and knowledgeable musicians.” Guitarist Rick Johnston: “The Chicago Authority connects the dots of a decades-long, circuitous route to the start of my musical journey. I feel like I've arrived back at the beginning with eight incredible musicians who share the passion.”

“That was amazing. Authentic. I thought I was listening to the original Chicago!”
