Reo Speedwagon Reschedules Concert at Four Winds New Buffalo
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE REO SPEEDWAGON RESCHEDULES CONCERT AT FOUR WINDS NEW BUFFALO Concert moved to Friday, November 9 NEW BUFFALO, Mich. – January 24, 2018 – The Pokagon Band of Potawatomi Indians’ Four Winds® Casinos announce the performance date for REO Speedwagon at Four Winds New Buffalo’s® Silver Creek® Event Center has changed to Friday, November 9, 2018 at 9 p.m. All tickets purchased for the concert originally scheduled for February 9 will be honored at the November 9 performance. Hotel and dinner packages are still available on the night of the concert. Tickets are on sale now exclusively through Ticketmaster®, www.ticketmaster.com, or by calling (800) 745-3000. Ticket prices for the show start at $75 plus applicable fees. Four Winds New Buffalo will be offering hotel and dinner packages along with tickets to REO Speedwagon. The Hard Rock option is available for $512 and includes two concert tickets, a one-night hotel stay on Friday, November 9 and a $50 gift card to Hard Rock Cafe® Four Winds. The Copper Rock option is available for $612 and includes two tickets to the performance, a one-night hotel stay on Friday, November 9 and a $150 gift card to Copper Rock Steak House®. Formed in 1967 at college in Champaign, IL, signed in 1971, and fronted by iconic vocalist Kevin Cronin since 1972, REO Speedwagon’s non-stop touring and recording jump-started the burgeoning rock movement in the Midwest. Platinum albums and radio staples soon followed, including the number one singles “Keep on Loving You” and “Can’t Fight This Feeling,” plus fan favorites like “Take It on the Run,” and “Ridin’ The Storm Out.” The band released its most successful album—Hi Infidelity—in 1980, which spent 15 weeks at #1 and has since earned the RIAA’s coveted 10X Diamond Award for surpassing 10 million units in the United States. -

(signed)…………Stephanie Piotrowski ……………… Piotrowski 2 Abstract In this thesis, I examine the Beatles’ five feature films in order to argue how undermining generic convention and manipulating performance codes allowed the band to control their relationship with their audience and to gain autonomy over their output. Drawing from P. David Marshall’s work on defining performance codes from the music, film, and television industries, I examine film form and style to illustrate how the Beatles’ filmmakers used these codes in different combinations from previous pop and classical musicals in order to illicit certain responses from the audience. In doing so, the role of the audience from passive viewer to active participant changed the way musicians used film to communicate with their fans. I also consider how the Beatles’ image changed throughout their career as reflected in their films as a way of charting the band’s journey from pop stars to musicians, while also considering the social and cultural factors represented in the band’s image. -

THE VISION ABLAZE Premiere New Video “Absent” Danish progressive metal quartet The Vision Ablaze have premiered a new video single for the song “Absent,” which opens their most recent album Youtopia. See it below. The album was released in September last year via Mighty Music, and was produced by Jacob Hansen (Aborted, Mercenary, Volbeat, Pretty Maids). About the story behind the track and how it complements the rest of the material on Youtopia, the band commented: “‘Absent’ is the first song on our album and it embodies many of the themes on the album; seeking truth, shattering illusions, questioning authorities and waking up. ‘Absent’ is the story of someone who must transcend the human illusion and save himself and humanity from the restraint of lies and deceit.” For the rest of the year The Vision Ablaze has planned tours in Demark, Sweden and Germany. Talking more about their plans, they said: “We've recently switched to wireless in-ears and it's the first step in making a smother live show. It enables us to control many important variables in our setup. We're also planning a video for 'Monster' too - which will be the 6th video for the album.” Youtopia won “Best Production” at the High Voltage Rock Awards 2016 in Copenhagen. It's the most prestigious award show for rock and metal in Denmark. The award cited producer Jacob Hansen's outstanding work — making a dynamic album that's both really crushing and very soft and clean at the same time. The award was given by renowned producer Flemming Rasmussen and he praised the album for the pristine production. -

CHUCK HANSEN Founder & Chairman of Electro Scan Inc. Chuck Hansen has a pretty cool life outside of trenchless technology. He has played his saxophone on stage with the likes of Tower of Power, Huey Lewis, Todd Rundgren, to name a few. His passion for rock n’ roll music runs deep — rooted in his childhood and in full bloom as an adult. He plays live music with rock stars, as well as owns a recording studio, where he records his own music (he’s recorded 24 CDs) in addition to other artists. Hansen is known in trenchless circles as the founder and chairman of Electro Scan Inc. (2011) and was founder of Hansen Information Technologies (1983), which developed asset management systems for water and sewer agencies. Electro Scan is an alternative to CCTV cameras to certify a trenchless lining and rehab projects as “leak-free.” He’s been playing music for more than 50 years, first learning the clarinet from his brother in the second grade then switching to the big baritone sax in the eighth grade. By high school, he was tabbed to play in the famous Monterey Jazz Festival’s All-Star Band competition, allowing him to take the stage with the likes of Dizzy Gilliespe, Louis Belson and Clark Terry. He went on to play in the U.C. Berkeley Jazz Band. Today, Hansen plays, in addition to the baritone sax, the bass sax and the contrabass sax. His “real world” job sometimes inhibits when he can play but he says he does each with as much passion and gusto as he can; each requires such enthusiasm and commitment to be successful, he says.
