Hydroponic Fodder Project Name : HYDROPONIC FODDER - Way Towards White Revolution Sector : Agriculture Project Code : AG16014 HYDROPONIC LONG TERM VISION To make Dairy business a prominent start-up and thus bringing white revolution in Maharashtra by using soil- less hydroponic fodder growing technology. Objective To introduce and to bring awareness about Hydroponic fodder growing technology in Maharashtra through campaigning. HYDROPONIC TEAM STRUCTURE MENTOR Analysis Communication Sanket Amit Documentation Accounts Priti Pooja Approached the Milk NGO’s FARMERS Production working for BACHAT GAT Societies farmers HYDROPONIC Focus Introducing HYDROPONICS to the Farmers from drought regions like Vidarbha & Marathwada. Clearing misunderstanding about Hydroponics. Connecting with NGOs & similar institutes to spread our idea. To decrease per liter milk production cost. HYDROPONIC Alignment In animal husbandry business 70% of expenditure is done on fodder. This fodder crop is grown in the farm by traditional way which consumes lot of water & space. Hydroponics is the fodder crop production technique which overcomes the drawbacks of traditional way. Besides it’s smaller size & less water consumption Hydroponics is the very economical way of fodder crop production. HYDROPONIC Alignment Agri. Department of Maharashtra govt. have also started the project named ‘ATMA’(Agri. Technology Management Agency) to provide guidance about Hydroponics. Similar work is happening in Ambegaon tehsil of Pune through NGO named ‘Vidnyan Aashram’,Pabal. Due to initiatives of government, some NGO’s & Project students like us, farmers will easily adopt this Technology and will try to implement. HYDROPONIC Approach Farming gets affected by natural calamities. Hence farmers should have ‘Permanent Income Source’ which won’t get affected by natural calamity. As hydroponics is not an open field farming it can not get affected by any environmental conditions, even it is a soil less farming. Thus we found it as a best choice for our project. Basically Hydroponics itself is ‘OUT OF THE BOX THINKING’ because of its following features, 1. 70% Cheaper than traditionally grown fodder. 2. No need of soil HYDROPONIC Approach 3. 80% less space required. 4. 90% water saving. 5. Well suited for semi-arid & drought prone region. 6. Enhancement in milk nutritive value. Hydroponics is not just limited upto green fodder production it is a wide concept including many other farm produces (eg. Fruits, vegetables etc.). The only limitation in hydroponics is the daily systematic routine. HYDROPONIC Implementation The main motto of this project is to encourage Dairy business in Maharashtra. It is possible only when we will reach the farmers from each class. To achieve this we planned our project as follows; DIRECT COMMUNICATION BACHAT GAT MEDIA FARMERS WE NGO’S MILK DAIRY AGRI. • Being the Change for Bringing Change
BEING THE CHANGE FOR BRINGING CHANGE Sir Ratan Tata Trust & Allied Trusts Annual Report 2017-2018 THE GUIDING PRINCIPLE OF TATA TRUSTS There is one kind of charity common enough among us, it is that patchwork philanthropy which clothes the ragged, feeds the poor, and heals the sick. I am far from decrying the noble spirit which seeks to help a poor or suffering fellow being. However, what advances a nation or a community is not so much to prop up its weakest and most helpless members, but to lift up the best and the most gifted, so as to make them of the greatest service to the country. ~ JAMSETJI TATA Sir Ratan Tata Trust & Allied Trusts | Annual Report 2017-2018 1 MESSAGE FROM THE CHAIRMAN The country today is reflective of both youthful energy and mature musings. As it is with the Trusts, which are balancing areas of national importance, with the work that began more than a century ago. The Trusts have endeavoured to be compassionate, harnessing creative thinking to achieve results desired by the beneficiaries. As they develop competence in executing projects at scale on ground, they are also acutely conscious of the strengths that lie in collaboratively working with like-minded partners to accelerate social change. It is this flexibility in approach that marks the signs of change. In the last year, the Trusts have undertaken work that may galvanise the way we address cancer care in the nation. The aim is to make specialised care accessible and to provide a uniform quality of treatment to all.
