30 THE GIFT OF INDIA

Is there ought you need that my bonds with old, Rich gifts of raiment or grain or gold? Ho! I have flung to the east and the west priceless treasures torn from my stricken womb To the drum-beats of the duty, the sabers of doom. Gathered like pearls in there Alien graves silent they sleep by the Persian waves, scattered like shells on Egyptian sand, They lie with pale brows and brave, broken hands, They are strewn like blossoms mown down by chance. On the blood- brown meadows of flandeus and France. Can you measure the grief of the tears I weep. Or compass the woe of the watch I Keep? Or the puied that thuills thro' my heat's --- CHILDHOOD FRIENDS and the hope that comforts the anguish As childhood friends of Prayer? We grew up together. And the for sad glorious vision I see. Promising to be friends of the torn red banners of victory? Forever and forever When the teuuor and the tumult of hate shall cease Sometimes we would And life be refashioned on anvils of peace, argue and fight, other times we would And your love shall offer memorial thanks Laugh and stay up all night! Remember the blood of my matured Sons!... We went from playing Shuodha D. Shinde With games and toys to talking and dreaming about different things and boys, My thoughts and feelings To you I would confide, Never Ever I have anything Which from you I would hide. Our friendship will always remain, though time will bring many changes, Our friendship will be the same we will always listen, communicate and share, for each other we will be full of love and care.

32 LIFE Surrounded by darkness, You are walking alone, Scared and helpless, Can't find your home,

The path seems endless, No one to support; God doesn't seems to exist, To give ray of hope.

But still you should walk, YOU ARE WORTH IT Don't peep in the past; Do not to undersize your worth It doesn't hold back the devils, By comparing yourself with others. And the shadows the cost. It is because we are different That each of us is special Though the path is long And its difficult to cope; Do not set your goals Trust your will soon By what other people deem important You'll find a beam of hope. Only you know What is best for you. All the efforts you take, Do not take for granted Won't go in rain, the things closest to your health A time will come, Cling to them as you would When the fruits you'll gain, Your life, For without them, This is what is life Life is meaningless. During his upcoming U.S. visit, Mr. Modi and U.S. President Barack Obama are likely to sign a new agreement for the making of the joint Indo-U.S. Radar Satellite Mission. China and India recently signed an agreement on “peaceful uses of outer space.” So, many are now wanting to partner in ISRO's success. On September 22, a mission by NASA called the Mars Atmosphere and Volatile Evolution (MAVEN), made at a cost of over $670 million, reached Mars. This Indian marathon took 300 days to cover a distance of over 670 million kilometres — a sprint really in a record time of 10 months. An inexpensive mission Many have questioned why India should be sending a robotic mission to Mars when there is so much poverty, malnutrition, death, disaster and diseases among its 1.2 billon population. Some have even called this mission as being a part of India's “delusional dream” of becoming a superpower in the 21st century. There can be nothing further from the truth. If one analyses the cost of the Mars Orbiter mission of Rs.450 crore, for Indians it works out to be about Rs.4 per person. Today, a bus

This is done by from over 30,000 cubic meters of air per hour before compressing the fine particulates of smog into black gems. Presented in rings or cufflinks, each gem contains the smog from 1000m3 of air. They are currently available for purchase through the Unlike regular air filters, the Smog Free Tower is capable of removing even the smallest – and most dangerous – airborne pollutants. Most air pollution deaths are caused by particles small enough to be inhaled deep into the lungs, resulting in heart attacks, strokes, lung cancer and respiratory diseases In an outdoor environment, the filters are capable of removing 60 percent of the nano particles, extending to 70 percent indoors. The technology itself is safe and tested, have been used in many hospitals. To collect the smog particles, the tower is charged with small positive current, sending positive ions into the air. Natural History: Oil and gas is naturally occuring liquid found in rock formations. It consist of complex mixture of hydrocarbons of various molecular weights, plus other organic compound. It is generally excepted that oil is formed mostly from carbonrich remains of an ancient plankton after exposure to heat and pressure in the earth's crust over hundreds of millions of years. Over time, the decayed residue was covered by layers of mud and slit, sinking further down into earth's crust and preserved there between hot and pressured levels gradually transforming into oil reservoirs. Early History: Oil and gas in an unrefined state has been utilized by humans for over 5000 years. Oil in general has been used since early human history to keep fire stable and in warfare. 52 CONSTRUCTION

Construction is the process of creating and building infrastructure or a facility. It differ's from manufacturing in that manufacturing typically involves mass production of similar items without a designated purchaser, while construction is typically done on location for a known client. Construct today, as an industry is six to nine percent of the gross domestic product for developed countries. Construction starts with planning, design, and financing and continues until the project is built and ready for use. Large scale construction is feat of human multitasking. a scientific team had traveled so that they could clearly observe a total eclipse of the sun on July 29, 1878, from the Continental Divide. In 1878 Edison began working on a system of electrical illumination, something he hoped could compete with gas and oil based lighting. He began by tackling the problem of creating a long lasting incandescent lamp, something that would be needed for indoor use. Many earlier inventors had previously devised incandescent lamps, including Alessandro Volta ' demonstration of a glowing wire in 1800 and inventions by Henry Woodward and Mathew Evans. Others who developed early and commercially impractical incandescent electric lamps THOMAS ALVA EDISON was an American inventor and included Humphrey Davy, James Bowman Lindsay , Moses G. businessman. He developed many devices that greatly Farmer, William E. Sawyer, Joseph Swan and Heinrich Gobble. influenced life around the world, including the phonograph, the Some of these early bulbs had such flaws as an extremely short motion picture camera, and a long-lasting, practical electric life, high expense to produce, and high electric current drawn, light bulb. Dubbed "The Wizard of Menlo Park", he was one of making them difficult to apply on a large scale commercially the first inventors to apply the principles of mass production and Edison realized that in order to keep the thickness of the copper large-scale teamwork to the process of invention, and because of wire needed to connect a series of electric lights to an that, he is often credited with the creation of the first industrial economically manageable size he would have to come up with a research laboratory. lamp that would draw a low amount of current. This meant the Edison was a prolific inventor, holding 1,093 US patents in his lamp would have to have a high resistance and run at a low name, as well as many patents in the United Kingdom, France, voltage (around 110 volts). and Germany. More significant than the number of Edison's After many experiments, first with carbon filaments and then patents was the widespread impact of his inventions: electric with platinum and other metals, in the end Edison returned to a light and power utilities sound recording and motion pictures all carbon filament. 86 DONATION DRIVE OF PCP FOR ‘NAAM FOUNDATION’

NAAM foundation has been started by Nana Patekar and Makarand Anaspure in September 2015. This has emerged after devastating conditions of drought & listening to agony of drought affected farmers in Maharashtra. NAAM is a manifestation of human spirit in response to the outbreak due to lamented turmoil happening around. NAAM is a movement with honest intentions to facilitate development of disadvantaged villages and lives of people which has now turned into a giant leap. Hope this movement will keep colouring the lives of people in a massive way. Mission of NAAM foundation is to build sustainable & progressive society by facilitating development in rural areas by working on different issues like infrastructure, education, employment, food & so on. India would be superpower in coming years only if our villages get self-sufficient & developed.
