We are a comprehensive EMS division that proviães basic life support (BLS)' advanced life support (ALS), specialty care transport (SCT), EMS communications, EMS and trauma education, community outieach, injury prevention education, and EMS disaster response and education. As the largest EMS piovider in the state and one the largest in the country, RWJHN treats and transports more than 101,000 patients annually. nWjH¡l dedicated to delivering our patients high-quality treatment and transþortation with cómpassion, dignity, empathy, and respect. As the region;s needs for healthcare evolve, new challenges arise.     MISSION STATEMENT he mission of the Safar Center for Resuscitation Research is to identify and promote ever-improving methods of preventing premature death and reducing associated disability from trauma and cardiac T arrest in people with “hearts and brains too good to die.” The Safar Center for Resuscitation Research at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine was founded by the late Dr. Peter Safar in 1979, initially as the International Resuscitation Research Center. In recognition of Dr. Safar’s innumerable contributions to the fi eld of resuscitation medicine, it was renamed the Safar Center for Resuscitation Research in 1994. The Safar Center’s current research programs include Traumatic Brain Injury, Child Abuse, Cardiac Arrest, Emergency Preservation and Resuscitation, Hemorrhagic Shock, Combat Casualty Care, Perinatal Brain Injury, and Rehabilitation of CNS Injury. Center investigators work closely with the clinical depts. of Critical Care Medicine, Surgery, Neurological Surgery, Anesthesiology, Emergency Medicine, and Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at both the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center and Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh of UPMC. In addition to conducting basic research, the Safar Center also provides training to the next generation of resuscitation researchers. MORTON CIVIC CENTER COUNCIL CHAMBERS Monday, October 14, 2013 Administration & Public Works (A&PW) Committee meets at 5:45 p.m. Planning & Development (P&D) Committee meets at 7:15 pm City Council meeting convenes immediately after the conclusion of the P&D Committee meeting ORDER OF BUSINESS (I) City Council Roll Call – Begin with Alderman Wynne (II) Mayor Public Announcements (III) City Manager Public Announcements (IV) Communications: City Clerk (V) Citizen Comment Members of the public are welcome to speak at City Council meetings. As part of the Council agenda, a period for citizen comments shall be offered at the commencement of each regular Council meeting. Those wishing to speak should sign their name, address and the agenda item or topic to be addressed on a designated participation sheet. If there are five or fewer speakers, fifteen minutes shall be provided for Citizen Comment. If there are more than five speakers, a period of forty-five minutes shall be provided for all comment, and no individual shall speak longer than three minutes. The Mayor will allocate time among the speakers to ensure that Citizen Comment does not exceed forty-five minutes. The business of the City Council shall commence forty-five minutes after the beginning of Citizen Comment. Aldermen do not respond during Citizen Comment. Citizen Comment is intended to foster dialogue in a respectful and civil manner. Citizen comments are requested to be made with these guidelines in mind. (VI)
