Doseljenici U Splitu Početkom 19. Stoljeća I Njihova Prezimena Nevenka Bezić-Božanić Split DOSELJENICI U SPLITU POČETKOM 19. STOLJEćA I NJIHOVA PREZIMENA UDK 808.87:801:313 Rad primljen 8. travnja 1988. No 1813. godine Split ponovo dolazi pod austrijsku upravu. Lučac i Manuš uspostavljaju svoje knjige 1825. godine, a Varoš i Dobri će to učiniti tek 1828. godine. I dok u Split 18. stoljeća doseljavaju uglavnom mletački činovnici, poneki trgovac i pomorac, te obrtnici manje poznatih obrta, u osvitu novog stoljeća u gradu nalazimo veći broj doseljenika iz čitave Dalmacije, Apeninskog polu otoka, Austrougarske Carevine i nekih mediterans!kih i evropskih zemalja. Croatia Page 1 of 6 Croatia International Religious Freedom Report 2005 Released by the Bureau of Democracy, Human Rights, and Labor The Constitution provides for freedom of conscience and religion and free public profession of religious conviction, and the Government generally respects these rights in practice. There is no official state religion; however, the Roman Catholic Church enjoys a close relationship with the State not shared by other religious groups. The legal position of most major religious communities has improved due to agreements with the State, which grant benefits similar to those enjoyed by the Catholic Church. There was no change in the status of respect for religious freedom during the period covered by this report, and the coalition Government that took power in 2003 has continued to contribute to the generally free practice of religion. Religion and ethnicity are linked closely in society. Since independence in 1991, religious institutions of all faiths were victimized by the ethnic conflicts that led to the breakup of the former Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia. There were sporadic reports of intimidation and vandalism, particularly in the war-affected areas, directed against Serbian Orthodox clergy and property, although there was a decrease in severity and frequency of such attacks. The U.S. Government discusses religious freedom issues with the Government as part of its overall policy to promote human rights. U.S. Embassy officials frequently met with representatives of religious and ethnic minority communities and with government officials. Section I. Religious Demography The country has a total area of 21,831 square miles, and its population is approximately 4,437,000.

ASSERIA, 3, 2005.,99-118 Radomir JURIÆ, Fibula oblika križa iz Podgrada (Asseria) kod Benkovca Radomir Juriæ A CRUCIFORM FIBULA FROM PODGRAÐE (ASSERIA) NEAR BENKOVAC Summary The Church of the Holy Spirit, situated at the local graveyard that occupies part of the forum of Roman Asseria, was damaged during the Homeland War. In the framework of a renovation program by the Institute for the Protection of the Cultural Heritage, Conserva- tion Office Zadar, revisory and rescue excavations were undertaken, supported by the Mi- nistry of Culture and the town of Benkovac, and directed by Dr. Ivo Fadiæ, museum coun- sellor in the Archaeological Museum in Zadar. Excavations have been performed at several locations in and around Asseria from 1998 to the present. Exceptional professional and sci- entific results have been achieved and regularly published. The excavations in 2001 along the northern face of the wall (beyond the “Trajanic gate”) uncovered a cemetery from the period of late Antiquity with two phases of burial. Bu- rials were found under eaved tiles, in walled grave vaults, and in pits lined with stone sla- bs. Jewellery was found in the later horizon of late Roman burials. One exceptional item was a silver fibula in the shape of a cross with widened ends to the arms, decorated with a double row of incisions. A circular setting with an inserted blue stone was located in the cen- ter. The loops for holding the pin were preserved on the back, and were attached with two ri- vets each. The pin is missing. Dimensions of the fibula: 4.9 x 3 cm /Fig.

We would like to inform you about the current state in Croatian defence industry. That is an industrial sector that has developed slowly but in continuity, companies have been given a pro- file, they have adopted new technologies and offer products that can meet demands of the buyers. The catalog represents manufacturers of different defence equipment, from apparel to footwear to complex simula- tors and combat systems. Meeting domestic requirements is evidence that many companies are ready to offer their products on global market too. One of the indicators that Croatian companies are capable of fulfilling the most difficult demands is that they manufac- tured appropriate equipment for different climatic and geo- graphical conditions for requirements of Croatian soldiers who are deployed in peace missions and operations abroad.

Since the beginning of the war in Croatia (1991-95) when the state media stimulated the production of popular music conveying appropriate narratives of national identity, Croatian popular music has been a site for the articulation of explicit national narratives of identity. The practice has continued into the present day, reflecting political and social change in Croatia (e.g. the growth of the war veterans lobby and protests against the Hague Tribunal).

  • Methods of Multivariate Analysis to Uncover Socio-Economic Differences Among Spatial-Economics Entities
METHODS OF MULTIVARIATE ANALYSIS TO UNCOVER SOCIO-ECONOMIC DIFFERENCES AMONG SPATIAL-ECONOMICS ENTITIES Paper prepared for the 45th Congress of the European Regional Science Association Volos, Greece, August 30th-Semptember 3rd, 2006 Ivana Rasic Bakaric Institute of Economics Zagreb Trg. J. F. Kennedya 7, 10000 Zagreb, Croatia [email protected] Abstract Main aim of regional policy is to reduce regional disparities. There is now doubt that action to tackle regional disparities is needed in Croatia. Main problem is the definition of region as a subject of regional policy. After discussion about definition of region and main criteria which should be considered during the process of establishment of regions, the paper will present one of the methodologies for spatial-economic entities' classification. The methodology will be used on the working sample of several Croatian counties. The classification will be obtained through use of multivariate statistical methods, and it is based on a wide number of demographic, economic, educations, employment indicators. Results leads to the identification of several axes of socio- economic characterisation, and the division of the observed territory into several homogenous clusters, regions with different degree of development. The main conclusion is that socio-economic reorients uncovered with this methodology provide useful characterisation and division of the territory, for policy making purpose. JEL Classification: C49, R12, R58 Keywords: homogeneous regions, factor and cluster analysis, regional policy 1 Introduction A precondition to formulating implementing and monitoring of regional policy measures is the existence of established regional boundaries. Division proposals depend on criteria used. Politicians and various professions use different criteria, in order to achieve the optimal territorial structure that could enable same or at least similar effects of certain policy measures within the same territorial unit, and could be easily monitored.
