Scholarship Book (Student Version) 2019 Scholarship Book (student version) 2019 Introductory Information This Scholarship Book (student version) contains descriptions of all scholarships currently administered by the Baraboo Community Scholarship Corporation (BCSC). Only one application form is necessary to be considered for any or all of these scholarships. Application forms are available at the Baraboo High School guidance office or through the media center computer. High school transcripts are available in the high school guidance office. It is the student’s responsibility to ensure that the application is completed properly and timely, that all transcripts are sent, and that both letters of recommendation are sent. The entire Scholarship Book (student version) is available online (in January, 2019) at: http://www.barabooscholarships.com The application, references, and transcripts must be returned to BCSC by Monday, February 28, 2019 or left in the High School Guidance drop box by Monday, February 28, 2019. Applications postmarked or left in the High School Guidance drop box on or later than March 1, 2019 will NOT be considered for scholarships. The address for sending the application materials is Baraboo Community Scholarship Corporation PO Box 380 Baraboo WI 53913-0380 The following pages list the general criteria that each donor specified for consideration for the pertinent scholarship. If a number is omitted in a specific scholarship, the criterion does not apply. For example, if number (5) is omitted from the list of criteria, that means (5) Class percent is not a consideration for that scholarship. Be sure to read each item on each page carefully, because every scholarship is different. You may not qualify for one, but may qualify for another. Be sure to apply if you qualify for any of our scholarships. • The History of the Hinz Family in America
The History of the Hinz Family in America Compiled by Roger I. Hintz, Jr. 2011-2019 1 Acknowledgements The following information is about the HINZ/HINTZ families in North America as de- scended from Friedrich and Christine Charlotte (Maschke) Hinz from Poberow, Rummels- burg, Pomerania. Much of the information on the families of Julius and August Hinz in Wisconsin was found online and in the book “Family of Henrich Herritz” by Monica Herritz (2004). Thank you to Donna Lange of ELCA for providing church record entries from Zion Lu- theran Stone Church in Sauk County, Wisconsin. Thank you to Charles Daniel Davisson, retired USAF, for assistance with the translation of German-language historical documents to English. Thank you to James Ide of Illinois and his father Robert, of Colorado, who provided sig- nificant information on the family of Helen Margaret (Hintz) Ide, daughter of Berthold Charles Hintz. Some of what is presented is taken from information received from the late Inger Warman Richcreek. No date appears on the original papers that were received, but the year 1969 is mentioned within the contents as the time of writing. Some events have been reconstructed in family and chronological order, by the late Mrs. Roland K. (Dorothy) Hintz in January 2005. Roland was a grandson of Gustav Hinz, who was a son of Friedrich August Hinz. Some events and history have been relayed from written and oral accounts by Amelia Sue (Hintz) Whitinger. Amelia is the youngest daughter of Kenneth Carl Hintz and was a granddaughter of Gustav Hinz. Other data was discovered online in federal and state census records, the Social Security Death Index, and other databases found on familysearch.com and ancestry.com (among other sources).
