Much in­ formation was supplied from the photograph album of the du Pont £e,mily compiled by Louisa du Pont Copeland about 1900. This album was republished and brought up to date by William Winder Laird, Jr., in 1935. These workers deserve our thanks for their part in this undertaking. Bessie Gardner du Pont's interest and years of work in examining and translating letters and documents continues to hold fust place in its inspiration for continued study of family history.
